CaptainChaos
So I'm first level, in a cave fighting bandits and I hit them once or twice and they go down. They pound me several times and don't seem to do that much damage. Adept is the middle level of difficulty. Should I max it out? I mean in Gothic 3 you were pitiful - here everything seems so easy. stars2heaven
I would if you think they are too easy for your level.
Vindekarr
I think you'll find that it's way to early to make judgements about dificulty. Skyrim's dificulty is, I can tell you now, patchy. Some monsters will really test you even one on one, others will feel like they take days to go down, and some will fall like weat before the scythe-I expect you'll be flipping dificulty back N forth quite a lot depending on your skills, I know I would be. Giants and Mammoths, or Draugrs will probably be your best early "dificulty barometre" but I really need to know your skills to calculate properly, how do you fight? I have a Nord/heavy armour/dual wield/archery/smithing character and the only things that have caused me any trouble are draugrs(pre silver swords ofc) mammoths(Just die already you peevish pakiderm) Giants(Who'd have thought Basketball players were so dangerous?) and that ZOMGWTFBBQ huge scuttly boss you'll find yourself meeting soon along the main quest. draksisbg
It's still in the beginning of the game. It probably gets harder later on, I don't know - I'm stuck at work, having to wait for another 6 hours to play Skyrim again >.<
daventry
Why cant Games just be Easy/Medium/Hard at its own passe, instead of Settings. :yucky:
Blocky
Setting it to the hardest difficulty from the start worked for me. Some boss fights you will fail and have to reload once or twice. Wolves take 3 or 4 hits to go down, bandits 5 or 6. And dragons... hahahahaha. Just run, run quickly.
Arcterion
I thought Adept was easy as well. Then I decided to visit the Grey Beards... I didn't even make it a quarter of the way up the mountain. Don't underestimate this game's easy mode. :(
DyingAtheist
The game will definitely pick up in difficulty, even after the first major quest you face quite a few tougher enemies.
Ondsk
Playing on Master and im currently level 11. I think Master is a rather good balance so far. Got my *ss kicked by some special characters and such, but that's how I like it :P
CaptainChaos
thanks for the input. I only put in 2-3 hours yesterday before i passed out :) I just figured at 1st level, a bandit would be about my level. I killed 2 at once, without barely breaking a sweat. I'll just experiment for awhile I guess!
