Triforce1
Well, I've decided. Whether it becomes the real city or not (hopefully not), I am going to do it this weekend. I'll post it on TES nexus once I finish.
shadowace
You might want to do that, I can't get the crator to work, sorry!
Triforce1
Well, FINE! I guess my spectacular setting is only good in my head, huh? Seems that most of this stuff is like that. Well, the story will have to be changed, but at least I know that I can do this city. It will look a little...unconventional though. But who hasn't wondered what a functioning above-ground Ayleid city would look like? (And I mean really above-ground!) The layout will still be the same, and the story line will be unchanged, but everything will have to be adapted. Don't worry; at least we will be able to begin sooner. LoginToDownload
You might consider looking at Peragus, a beta Flying Ayleid city that seems very popular. Might provide some good inspiration.Back to my corner...
Triforce1
Thanks a ton. And get out of your stupid corner! I give you a hard time only because I'm sure you are holding back talent. You should be popping up with great advice more often!
Triforce1
Well, I started the floating city. So far, it is really cool; it is above the mountains right above the eastern border...and I mean way above. You can just barely see the City Isle from up there. Not much is done, but there is definate progress. It will be tiered, with multiple little bridges running off each place. You must be able to fly to reach it. All of the stuff so far has been taken from IC architecture, but the rest will be purely Ayleid. So picture a floating tiered cylindrical mass of M.C. Escher style IC sidewalks and towers with Ayleid stones sticking out everywhere. And I need a new name. Screens when they become decent...
LoginToDownload
Ayleid, you say? A rather cultural Random Name Generator suggests Aishwarya.
Triforce1
Maybe I'll use that. But while your here, I have a major aesthetics problem. I've created the first island that will make up the city, the one holding the Akatosh Temple and some gardens, and I decided that to make it seem like the dirt underneath the city was floating too, I put a whole bunch of different rocks underneath so that the city wouldn't be invisible from below. Great idea, I think, but here's the problem. Unless you are pretty much five steps from the rocks, they are invisible and the invisible architecture looks terrible. I checked "visible from a distance" when placing/duplicating every rock, but this problem still stays. :wallbash: Really, this question is for anyone who can answer it. Help!
