Triforce1
Master of the obvious! I like your style; I used to be one myself. Point well taken though, Mr. nelvahin. You there!! Eddox!! Welcome aboard. If you've read anything up to this point, then you know I can't do anything but build stuff worth a flip. If you can rig up all of the merchants, guards, and skill teachers, then that would be wonderful. Not quite to that stage, but I will come looking for you when I get there. I know where to find all of you. Any who has ever said they would aid, BE warned!! ;)

Triforce1
Phew? What do you mean, PHEW?! I have it in typing several pages back that you were implying that might be considering perhaps aiding in some small part...THAT COUNTS YOU IN, BUDDY!!! I mean besides, you've given me enough advice, you might as well be this project's resident guardian angel. Do I have to get the Cat to do that Persuasion minigame on you again? Triforce1
Hey, guess what? The floating city is begun! I'v ebeen working on it for about a month now and I have only run inot two problems: All of the architecture is invisible from below (which I knew) AND The rocks I was going to use to cover up this fact won't show up until you get ridiculously close to them. I've put out two other threads to try and solve this, but while I got sound advice none of it worked (or I was doing it wrong). Can someone tell me what I need to do to get those things visible from at least the distance of the buildings that sit on them? Oh yeah, and here's a rather artistic view of the statues on the main floor of the city (there will be one above and at least one below) with the Akatosh Temple floating in the background (there will be many of these "off-islands" too. Comment! Help! Anything!
shadowace
Hmm, couldn't you just like make it invisible from the bottom, so like its like so noone knows about it so they don't get invaded? Which fails cause the Daedra attack but still you get my idea!
madman132
Invisible City? Well, its magic (Duh!)! :D That is the Protetion from prying Eyes. Akatosh himself made the City invisible. But it will com into sight when you come close to it so the People of the City can lead normal lifes, without being constantly remebered that they are floating in the Sky o_O

Triforce1
Okay, not quite what I meant. If you can't quite understand the problem, then go to the CS, pick any big building, and place it anywhere about thirty scale feet off the ground. The in-game go stand under it. The building is only partly invisible when viewed from underneath, so it just looks bad. The buildings all look bad because they come into view WAY before the rocks do. If the whole thing was invisible until you got about a thousand scale feet away from it, then it would be great, but the LODs make individual parts come into view at different times...bad times. Those stupid rocks need to be fixed; trust me.
shadowace
Try trees, or something with LOD?
madman132
I do understand the Problem. Well, either you somehow deactivate LoD on the Houses so that they pop up when the Rocks do, which would look still crappy, or you use something else with LoD for the "Foundation". You could use City Walls as some Sort of "Tiles"... Use the Kvatch City Walls. They look burnt and blackish, so you could glue some Rocks under there without them look bad because it will be hardly noticeable when they pop up on something dark grey. From the Distance, the whole Thing would just look black, which is quite good because you're looking at a shadowed area in comparison with bright sunlight. And in the Night, well, its black allright :D
