Ummm; hate to put ya down, but no. The rocks look awesome when you get close enough to see them, and I am trying to make it appear as it the buildings are actually sitting on floating earth. The rocks make it happen; they just need to do so from farther away.

Madman, that takes me back to my original problem. Thanks anyway.

Login, some of my architecture will indeed be like that. But while some things would look good (i.e. structures with no doors), the Temple of the One (the "Great Temple of Akatosh") flipped upside down under itself would be wierd. Besides, why would the builders do that? Besides, how hard can it be to create a new LOD texture for some rocks? They don't move; they don't activate...I mean, come on!

Its not quite the original Problem. Well, you have your Pile of Rocks, which pop up right before the Players Nose, while he can see through the Floors of the Houses. Well, he cant see much, because the insides of the Houses arent really there yet =)

With some black Wall or a flipped over copy you wont have this Pop up Problem; The Rocks will still pop up, but this wont be as disturbing because you cant see through the Rocks and through the Houses.

Plus: You wont have to plaster this huge Object with so many Rocks that the Rocks alone could cover the entire floating Island Bottom.

Maybe this is the Problem: Too many Rocks, too many Objects are messing with your LoD...

No, I doubt it. How about this; quit with the other options. Sometimes I get stubborn, so I apologize in advance, but that's how it will be. That's the only way it will fit into the story, trust me.

So, instead of focusing on alternatives, maybe you could start suggesting ways for me to fix this rock LOD thing? Please? I beg of you [particularly you two, Vagrant0 (should you miraculously appear) and LoginToDownload (because I know you show up more)!

My only Advise in this Matter would be to run around in Oblivion too see which Rocks are visible from are suitable Distance and use them. Dont know if that helps, I will not pretend to have any knowledge in this Area :D

Even if this, as you mentioned, propably wont change your Mind, i think i have to tell you that such a massive amount of Rock Objects will propably slow down the Computer.

I see your point, but I would like to use rocks from the area where the city floats; as if it was raised up there (it was...). Besides, I don't think any of the rocks do that. Thanks anyway. Oh, and it doesn't slow down my computer at all...

Okay, the Floating City is now about 45% built. I solved the rock problem by using Ayleid Bricks (like the ones I used on Dragon's Roost), and you can see them from just as far away as the buildings. Here's a screen [this is actually out of date; much more has been added (the Dragon Rider's quarters on top of that random flying platform is complete), but I am lazy and I just want you to catch my drift]:
