cops don't expose a drug house by running around in their underpants, smoking crack, and trying to rape the neighbor pets.

Judging by your comments, you seem to have experience on this matter...

He didn't upload a mod to break anyones crap, nor did he threaten to that I am aware of.. jeez.

He pointed out that its possible, and that people really ought to pay attention to what mods they download, and watch for stolen content... a lot of stolen mods are getting uploaded as something like "test" or "testing" and people blindly download it. What happens when someone who is mad or wants to destroy peoples hardware "for the lulz" and they upload another "test" mod that uses something like what DDP pointed out??

THAT's his point. Not to threaten anyone. Please make sure you understand before making posts that make you look incapable of reading / listening.

You should be on your knees WORSHIPPING the people exploring this form of code/mod. Beth MUST be on the ball, given how important console mods will be for them in the future, and ENSURE their engine is fixed to PRO-ACTIVELY prevent any mod from 'bricking' the Console.

Does anyone here want the Adobe Flash situation, where Flash is allowed to remain the MAIN VECTOR for malware attacks (in this case because Adobe works with the NSA to build back-doors into the Flash code base). Bethesda has a moral responsibility to do a PROPER job ensuring the engine does all forms of SANITY tests on datasets.

Mods CANNOT contain native code on the consoles, so mods should NEVER be capable of bricking the hardware. But Beth is LAZY and INCOMPETENT. By PROVING that the problem exists, modders are doing a PUBLIC SERVICE, and WHINERS should turn their attention to Beth, and DEMAND that Beth fixes their broken code.

Yep by exposing a problem and only harming myself, I have destroyed the community!!!

Wonder if you guys would beat up a cop for exposing a meth house in your area.. probably... Seeing as the meth house was clearly never there before the cops found it since you didn't see it...

It is ok, I shall be your jesus, I shall bear your sins so you all may be safe and free!

I never said that is was you. but in other forums Ive seen peaple trying to find a way to do this before you and I hope they think about others before they act.Bricking is bad m'kay, dont brick m'kay.

You may not but the OP did. And on bethefta.net quite a lot of people are acting as if DDP was the console-antichrist in person. Even the guy who actually stole DDP's mod started bashing him for exactly the same thing. In the current situation one should be careful to accuse someone for something like what the OP did.

As messed up as the idea is, it's a good thing to make Beth aware that exploits like this exist, even more so for closed systems like consoles where users are basically using an appliance without access to tools to protect or fix it.

What's really amazing is that Beth was actually this clueless about all of the potential problems all along. Especially with Sony and Microsoft looking over their shoulder. Wonder how much Sony and Microsoft are putting pressure on Beth to get their act together?

Agreed. Seems very rushed without a lot of forethought. they'll get it together eventually but now it looks like they'll have to add a layer of security for uploaded mods

Or maybe they'll just figure it's too much trouble and throw the baby out with the bath water. If that happens, there is a good chance they'll take a second look at providing the CK for future releases. The console market is just too big for them to take a chance on it.

It doesn't really help when all he has been doing is attacking console users and people over there. Blaming mod theft on them with no evidence and constantly trying to make console users into some large harassment force when most of the 'harassment' were people just standing up against his abusive ways.

So yea, people get scared that this person who has done nothing but attack console users is now showing that it's possible to brick consoles. That frightens people and makes them paranoid.
