JimboUK
Vsync might be causing it, you can disable it by adding iPresentInterval=0 to the bottom of the [Display] section of the Skyrim.ini file in the \Users\[username]\My Documents\My Games\Skyrim directory. JimboUK
Have you got a gamepad plugged in? it was suggested that doesn't help.
bartonarms
Having the exact same issue. A dramatic delay - only the keyboard, not the mouse and only in 3rd person. I don't think it's a typical performance issue, because it's incredibly consistent. Vsync had no effect for me either, and no, no gamepad. Hope someone can figure this one out. nvniko
Yeah either we have to find out whats causing these delays or Bethesda need to release a serious patch. Lol, so it looks like Nvidia users got keyboard lag and AMD users got mouse lag. I got the HD 6770 and the mouse lag is making the game unplayable. And yes I did do all the ini tweaks, oh well back to oblivion:(
macole
Make no mistake I am very serious when I say, I want to thank all the beta testers who are now working so feverishly to find and report all manner of bugs dealing with game play, the UI and game control. Sorry that you had to pay for the privilege. I will surely buy the game in a month or so when all your hard work comes to fruition and the final production patches become available. Salute
Carraro
Well, I'm sorry to break the pattern about ATI/NVIDIA, but I have a Radeon HD 6950 and I'm having the Keyboard delay on 3rd person (only 3rd). It lasts about 0,7 seconds (doesn't seem rly much), but, believe me, it's very annoying. I've tried the mod comunity but found nothing. :(
OneTrueForky
I have an NVIDIA, and I only have the mouse lag. It happens just every once in a while, but ALWAYS at the start of the game, during the first encounter when you get the sword from the chest (I always follow Hadvar, but that's just me), and fight the stormcloaks. Oddly, if I switch to Third Person, I no longer have that problem. -OneTrueForky

This worked for me:https://support.steampowered.com/kb_article.php?ref=5365-RXBN-5508 It was that on Windows 7 sticky key and filter key detection was on by default; it wasn't in any way noticable when using the computer normally byt I found that Skyrim lagged horribly and intermittently (as did ome other games, like Portal 2) - it seems to affect Staem games mostly - perhaps because really they are in some sort of clever windows mode rather than in full protected mode. Anyway, try the suggestions in the Steam support link to fix keyboard lag, mouse lag and general input lag!
