Jasper23
has anyone caught lycanthropy in the wild? I would hate to have to do a quest just to turn into a werewolf, you should be able to catch it from fighting werewolves.
Wolves425
I have yet to turn into a werewolf, but it looks like its is quest related.the inner circle of the companion guild are werewolves, so im assuming you need to become one of the inner circle to get the option to become one. and for that you need to do some of quests.---Edit: there is about 5-6 quests to do before you get the werewolf form (just got it now ), however, there is only 2 which takes more then 5min to do. But in them you also get 2 more shouts so its worth it. Edited November 11, 2011 by Wolves425
umut
Can you be both a vampire and a werewolf?
Jupitus
Is there any way to determine what disease you have? After three people in Whiterun told me that I am not looking well I checked my stats and sure enough I have contracted a disease between saves. The only close encounters with animals were two elk and a wolf on the way from Riverwood to Whiterun. I didnt even think about it after I killed the wolf until I got to Whiterun and heard peoples comments. I picked up some potion of cure disease from Arcadia which claims it will cure all diseases but I am going to hold off on using it and see what happens. I'm playing a Breton so I thought the comments was about me not looking like a Nord or something. But then I touched a shrine somewhere in the wilds, it said it had cured me of all diseases and the comments stopped. So I guess I got something from something. :P
puggl3king
You can become werewolf by either A. getting the disease or watever or B. Doing the quest for the companions if you choose B then here ya go http://www.gamefront.com/skyrim-how-to-become-a-werewolf/

I hadnt heard any such comment until I reached Whiterun so I checked my previous saves and my stats were 0 disease up until then. Im playing as a Nord, the NPCs apparently know when you are ill. Everthing that I have read mentions being attacked by a werewolf, I was attacked by a wolf during the daytime so maybe I just have rabies.

But I did that golden claw quest/cave on my way and happened upon various enemies in the wild so I could have gotten it from a lot of different enemies. If you say werewolf I can't stop thinking about that faction in Whiterun...
Lyanheart
Pretty sure you catch something during the Golden Claw quest... Axbraxia or something like that... started with an A and had X's in it... anyway... You can see what diseases you have by looking at your "active effects." Diseases appear in red. Drinking the potion of cure disease gets rid of it.

I will save the potion for in the field.
