xaliqen
hey man, i tried this however it ddint work... unfortunately no solutions work for all of us as you said. personally i this its disgraceful that bethseda havent done something about this , hopefully they will eventually!!!!! Well, to be able to fix it they first need to know about it and (most likely) replicate it on their end. Just make sure you're as detailed as possible when you e-mail Bethesda's support team. Palanai
Might sound extreme but I've radically decreased the occurance of the stretching glitches by manually downsizing plant textures to a quarter of their original size. I still get these glitches but maybe once every 30 or so minutes and even then, pausing for 3 seconds makes it go away. So putting the texture option to low did nothign at all but manually doing it and still playing on high helps? What? F..king ridiculous but at least I can sort of enjoy playing now. Also, my FPS in towns increased by 5 after this. o_O What's going on in this game? Screw you, Bugthesda.
Bunik
I dont want to sound ungrateful but the same thing has been said by other people lots of times in this topic and it didnt work. You think noone else thought of drivers? Well yes, drivers have been mentioned many times, but I dont think anyone mentioned any driver removal tool and also how to stop Windows autoupdating drivers. You know when you uninstall or update drivers, there is lots of crap staying behind. Old registry entries, old configuration files etc. Removing those often solves quite a lotof graphic issues. However I must admit from what people are reporting here, it seems some kind of memory issue on some specific hardware combination. Somehow it seems to corrupt the data and create such artefacts. This is just my opinion, I'm no expert in this area.
Acrylia
O.K. I may have a solid answer for some of you on this issue. I ran the game without this issue since Nov 11 then on Dec 10 all of a sudden I have it. Here is what happened. I downloaded and installed the new Catalyst Control Center (ccc) 11.1. So..... I knew the problem stemed from this. What i found after nearly 24 hours of screwing around with ccc and game settings was that I reset ccc to factory settings then reset game graphic setting back to were i was running them post all the problems and my isssue was fixed. Also i stopped ccc from running in system tray while i play Skyrim. I really hope this helps some of you. If you are running Nvidia cards try there equvilant to ccc. Acrylia Softheart of High Rock It helped a lot, I played for 3 hours without this glitch and even after that, it only appeared once and went away automatically after 2-3 seconds. Thanks! HeyYou
Why is this one getting bumped? There 'appears' to be a fix for it..... If there isn't a fix yet, I would look very hard at a possible hardware failure. Wonky textures and such is a sign of VRAM going belly up.
Palanai
So all these video cards happen to go down the sink at the same time when skyrim comes out? Talk about a coincidence. Btw, someone said it's a problem with how the game cant use vertex texture fetch properly on some cards. Up to bethesda to fix it.
Darukai
Well my problem was that i accidently changed video cards between sessions so the textures started to warp while in game. If you have a laptop like mine make sure its the one you started Skyrim with. Also, check if your correct graphics card is selected in the options of the launcher. Bye!
