Galacticat42
Heh, big consort here eh? Seems I've been working the Mod Talk forum for far too long. Allow me to introduce myself as the mod manager of your dreams. Dragonborn: The Fallen Greybeards is a complete dragon overhaul infrastructure mod that will allow you to shout yourself into Dovah form. You can go through a huge cavern where magma flows freely, or even go to the deep black icy reaches of the Sea of Ghosts and much more places. Be forewarned as there are dangerous places where the sun never shines now, and I'm not talking about undead or afterlife denizens, but rather Dragon lairs. In addition to this there will be a Thu'um constellation that increases shout strength, durability, cooldown and overall potency with a probability of a Dovah Constellation that will specialize your dragon form. There will be Tenebrous Dragons, who's abilities revolves around living shadows that can devour a soul, there will be Abysmal Dragons who lurk the blackest parts of the waters and Storm Dragons who breathe lightning. The mod in general revolves around being a Dragon Overhaul mod, but will also have a huge, fully voiced quest system in line that replaces the late main questline to allow the player to finish the game however he/she wants to. Simpson3k
Not sure about this mod from lore side. If you start the game as natural born dragon..you have no relation to humanoid civilizations so you would have no connetion to the games plots anymore. Why should a true, dragon help the humans, elven at their needs..do quests for them..or join the empire..stormclouds..help the magic college? All that stuff would be of no intresst for a dragon. Hm perhaps another example to make it more clear. As a mortal char of any of the defaul game races, you are used to drink, eat sleep and the like..now imagine someone adds undead as playable races...all those game mechanics would be meaningless. Of course i can understand the fascination of flying in wyrm shape over the sky but perhaps it better stays as dragon shape of some sort..so that your chars mind is still one of humanoid with all the memories of his humanoid life that makes him/her what he/she is. Edith needs to add that a dragon born dragonborn is a funny wordgame, isnt it?^^ Edited December 12, 2011 by Simpson3k
Terralventhe
Well, I already brought this up in a sense, and as far as I could tell, one of the accepted premises was that of using a Shout in order to transform into a Dragon.

Galacticat42
im still on in for the idea of playing as an dragon Yea well you'll get your wish. As a side effect of my mod, having a fully animated, playable dragon, I suppose I can release a small Dragon race mod to the side.

Big thanks in advance for this work, along with the Dragon race side mod! Perhaps I can dissect the mod files and see what you did. I had another style of Dragon mod in mind which revolved around starting as a baby dragon and growing to become an Ancient after some time. Much the way that the human player surpasses so many others in past elder scrolls games. The player's Dragon will surpass the likes of Alduin and the Dohvakin. It's almost entirely separate from the main story and even the lore, but something I've wanted since back in the 1990's. :turned: I'm totally amazed at all the ideas, discussions and planning in regards to playable dragons. Edited December 14, 2011 by Aedred
Gilibran
Though a different world & game altogether. Saskia from the Witcher 2 could provide a solid base for the lore of the abbilty to change into a dragon. Playing as a dragon all the time probably gets really boring very soon and unpracticall. But i can see myself Summon Ohdoviin in the defence of Whiterun turn into a dragon myself and just wait for those Stormcloaks. It would be awesome to for any DLC or mod that involves kicking the Thalmor out of Skyrim & Cyrodiil. So Thalmor who is the superior race now hey? Or is all this what you 'plan' on creating.

Or is all this what you 'plan' on creating. We're working on it, actually. Budz42 is trying to remodel a dragon to become the model for the Dragonling creature, while we already got modelers, voice actors, and what not on stand-by who are also helping out with the planning, myself included with my own idea. The topic can be found here , as well as a link to the forums/project page.
Galacticat42
Ayup, and now that my college finals are over for the semester I can begin working more on modding. As far as modeling the dragonling goes, I've messed around with the face quite a bit, but I finally decided the face in the SS below is the direction I want to go in for the body. I also have some work done on the tail not viewable here. As you can see, I've shrunk the teeth, the muzzle spikes and made the model small enough to have the same sized eyes look huge.http://dl.dropbox.com/u/2647636/Whelp1.jpg
