Greygarden happiness decreasing

Many people have said that Synths don't sleep but I have a female settler at Murkwater who is a synth and I have seen her sleeping, always in the same bed. Also Curie is a synth and so are many of the Railroad and they seem to have normal, erm, bodily functions.

I can confirm that they sleep because I just found a sleeping synth at the Slog last night. I noticed happiness was lower than usual so went to investigate. As soon as I sent him off to Hangman's Alley (Where I've been sending all found synths) the happiness started going back up.

I've seen Nick eat at the bar, although he explicitly says, he doesn't. I chalk that up to the developers not making a difference between Synth and human behavior.

I see him eat power noodles all the time. It always makes me laugh when I see him eat because it makes me imagine a pile of food in his pants legs.

Well, there are hoses running down from his neck, but he explicitly says sometimes he doesn't need to eat or sleep.

The only settlement I don't have enabled is Mechanists Lair so I think I may send the synths there. It will be a bit of a wrench as one of them at Longfellows Cabin is very beautiful.I like killing Brahmin anyway so it can die.

If anyone is interested I decided, since I only had 8 settlers there, to clear out Kingsport Lighthouse and move the synths there. The eventual tally was 15 synths and there was the synth brahmin at Warwick Homestead which I shot with a harpoon gun.

Graygarden however is still stuck on 69%.......

What's the happiness at the lighthouse now? I'm curious to know if synths will bring each other's happiness down.

It is at 81%, pretty much the same as it was before. Another 2 synths turned up when I turned on the beacons at a couple of the settlements so there are now 17 at Kingsport. It's hard to tell what effect the synths have because I have had to build more bedrooms for them and so on. Graygarden is still stuck at 69%.

I do not know for sure but here is something you may want to experiment with.

Even though the settlers at Graygarden are robots I believe they may need beds for happiness. I have read somewhere a long time ago that someone had the same issue and then made enough beds to cover the number of settlers in the place. The 6 original robots and anyone else you have there, will need beds to get the happiness credit. The person said the beds do not need to me positioned nicely and this person just piled them up in a corner of the greenhouse. He did this to make sure they were interior beds and not outside so he could get max happiness out of it. Good luck!

Not sure about that. Since Automatron came out, I made Hangman's into an exclusively robot settlement. To not have to work with the confines and turn it into sort of a military compound. Happiness is pretty good there. Without beds, food or water.

I wonder if the existing Graygarden 6 robots have different game mechanics than DLC created ones. In the original release Beth may have made the original 6 have "human" settler characteristics, but not the same for player created ones. I do not know but it would not surprise me if Beth did give different attributes to the Graygarden 6.

@ TheGadget, if you fiddle around with this come back and let us know the results of the happiness.

I liked the logic behind your idea of putting in beds for the Handys since the game counts them as people, so I stuck the beds in a building but after 3 game days the happiness went down from 69% to 67%.

I omitted to mention that I didn't have any shops here as it was a low level priority for me (the settlement that is ) so I put in two Tier 3 shops, a Restaurant and a Clinic. The last time I looked happiness was up to 72%. I also have a working BYOP shower and a toilet plus one of those awful pink snorty things.
