  1. 1. What would you want?

    • Horns/spikes through headwear
    • Custom(izable) tails

I play a reptilian character and I've customized it to be as horned as possible. As such, I'm quite annoyed by the fact that equipping any type of headwear makes all my horns dissapear. I know horns are labeled as "hair" in the character creator and, while it's natural for hair to be tucked when wearing a helm, it feels ilogical for horns to be like that, as well. I'm requesting a mod that simply keeps horns enabled and visible when wearing headwear while, for aesthetics' and realism's sake, having the helms and cloaks look like they have holes for each horn. I don't do modding, but I figure that one way to do it would be making headwear texture dissapear around horns so it looks like holes were made for each of them. This might not be easy, as I suspect each horn, while quite big and seamingly unique, is still part of a complete "hair" mesh. So, if that's true, then this mod would be quite difficult to make without altering the argonian hair structure to make individual spike/horn placement possible.

In regards to tail customization, I'm not digging the relatively bland tails. Imo, it would be cool to see a mod that modifies the tail's length, thickness, position (for very long tails: add animations so they move and swing while you walk, and/or make them coil around your body etc.) and add accesories or parts like spikes and sharp/bludgeon-like tips. Another cool thing, though probably unlikely, would be to make a mod that enables you to attack with your tail, Alien style.

Have you ever felt an iguana's spikes before?

They are actually quite soft and pliable like skin.... so I'm pretty sure that's the direction Bethesda was taking with that.

I have, but they're far from being as elastic as hair. Even if they made argonian spikes pliable, they'd still have to make some awkward bumps on each helm to hide them, seeing as how they'd not be able to get flattened. That wouldn't be realistic, however, since, judging by the looks, argonian spikes/horns are made of bone and are extensions of the skeleton. As for Bethesda's "direction", I think it's just the fault of hair meshes disappearing when wearing helms (which applies to horns as well), and not an internal design, since my back and brow spikes + 2 big stony horns simply vanish when I equip headwear. The horns are supposed to be strong and sturdy, as they are made of bone.
