Roguespear
I would like to activate Skyrim then dissable Steam. I would like to uninstall Steam after activation. After 35 million user accounts were compremised, requiring Steam to play Skyrim is major reason not to even play Skyrim. Smells like some money changed hands for this one. Steam sucks!!!! Otherwise, looks like Oblivion instead which suits me fine. JimboUK
Skyrim requires Steam to run, suggesting ways around it is likely to get the person posting a ban.
Panpiper
Steam is 'required' to play? Crap... I guess that means no Skyrim for me. Steam has given me no end of misery for all three of the games I have run that use it. I am not going to try that yet again, not even for Skyrim. meesles
You guys are silly. Steam is a great service, and I've never had a problem with it and the 90+ games I own. With regards to the hacked servers, PSN had this same issue, and stuff like this happens. Changing your password once and just keeping an eye out will prevent anything bad from happening. Imiona
As long it not uses Origin i'm happy
nijohc
lol if ur account was compromised by hackers then changing the pass does nothing. they already took all the info they need
symphoni
lol if ur account was compromised by hackers then changing the pass does nothing. they already took all the info they need Not all accounts were compromised, only a select few. Beside these type of things are sure to happen, just like crime in the streets. As least Steam is a relatively good service, I never had any problems with steam, and it's really stable not like the clunky Origin.
zappa45
Ya steam was hacked in a major way and all of their info was compromised. Also comparing one forced online service with another doesn't really make any of us who don't play or mod games online any happier. We paid good money to BUY the game in a box and then are forced to use a third party server which we HAVE to allow access to our systems just to play OUR game which has no online content at all. Screw that noise and bethesda for forcing us to use them. Steam can get their nose out of my system if I don't want to use em I shouldn't have to. If any gamers really like steam and the crap they cause and the wasted hours and annoyances or if they have no issues at all, then fine good for them but I have had nothing but bad experiences with steam and I will never...NEVER buy another game with a steam forced account not even an Elder scrolls game I'd rather keep my money and buy the boot-leg version after being treated like this when I pony up my hard earned cash. :pirate:
DyingAtheist
Being treated like what?I have over 50 games in my Steam library and I'm yet to have an issue. As for the stolen accounts etc., you don't even need to put any credit card info and the like on your account for it to be able to activate Skyrim, so I don't see the issue there.A lot of people hate Steam on these forums, and I've never really understood why. It's easy and simple to use, it's quick, and it doesn't do any harm.Lighten up.
Solitude102
I've never understood the hate for the steam client. It's a relatively good service in comparison to the other ones out there. The few days where it brought me trouble, I just walked outside my home for a change xD.
