K00L
First off I own Fallout 3, Fallout New Vegas, Oblivion, Dragon Age Origins Ultimate Edition, Dragon Age 2, The Witcher 2, and Morrowind, so I visit the Nexus sites often. Now, one of my favorite mods, and in my opinion one of the best, for Fallout 3 is Real Time Settlers found here. What it allows you to do is build a settlement and fill it with people. I've always dreamed of being able to do that in Oblivion, because I play Oblivion more that Fallout. Anyways I know this is a huge undertaking to ask of anyone, but I have none of the skills necessary to do it as the mod would require a BUTT LOAD of scripting. I really wanna know how many people agree! Imagine being able to build your own colony anywhere, and then defend it with the villagers! :thumbsup:It could easily be the same as RTS but in Oblivion. There are plenty of objects that could be used to build a settlement, such as logs, etc. You could still set up crafting places. Most stuff would work exactly the same. Of course some things would have to change, such as the turrets. But those could potentially be replaced by archers or perhaps ballista if there is a ballista mod. Here's RTS features so those of you that do not know it have an idea: - setting up and managing your own village- gathering materials- blueprinting objects- crafting of weapons, clothing and equipment- defending against encounter attacks- ability to recruit most NPCs in the game as companions or villagers- enterable house interiors for your inhabitants- three universal types of interiors.- destructible walls, watchtowers and other facilities- universal repair parts for your armors and weapons- Fruit tree and vegetable farming- Faction disguises- And more I'm sure someone has suggested this before, but it is a GREAT idea!
olha2
well the problem is that unless its done in the construction set and not actually in game NPC's won't notice that there way is blockt and will just keep moving forwards like there is nothing there but maybe if we find a way around this then yes! it will be a good idea
K00L
Yeah, I have no idea how they did that for Fallout. But the people did know things were there so there is more than likely a way around it in Oblivion.
CNash
Well to be fair in Fallout i found them walking into buildings and huddling in a corner half the time and the game was really prone to crashing...I suppose it would be cool, it makes a bit less sense in Oblivion but it's still a decent concept.
