Violentguy
So im 8 hours into the game and I've just visited the Graybeards. The first scripted dragon was easy cuz I had a bunch of Whiterun guards kill it. My first random encounter was on a mountaintop and I died 12 times before I decided to use my staff that did 25 damage. Then I was walking with my companion back to Whiterun in the dark and out of nowhere I heard a dragon roar and I swear that I've never been so freaking scared before. I just froze behind a rock hoping for it to leave. Which it did. So I suck at killing dragons. Can anyone give me dragon-killing tips? Im a poor BattleMage-in-training. GoodfellowGoodspring
Do you need to kill the scripted dragon for them to start spawning? I keep mistaking crows for them :(
scrivener07
Same story bro. I killed the first scripted one and ran from my next encounter. Still great fun
Violentguy
Yeah....but I want to kill them for my shouts. I love my shouts. But they need dragon souls to work. So I has dilemna. Anyone figure out the best way to kill a dragon?
Vindekarr
My two handers bring 'em down fairly easily, but I'm yet to find a truly effective dragonbuster. Two-handed weapons seem to enjoy a bit of extra damage, but if you can lure the big nasty bugger to some Giants, that's an expediant way to drop him quickly. It's been proven that Giants rock VS dragons. Edited November 13, 2011 by Vindekarr

I keep mistaking crows for them :(Yeah, you have to do the quest at Whiterun. Moving on, I get paranoid when the music changes to a battle type one and keep looking up in the sky to make sure nothing is coming :P Also I heard they get really hard once you reach a decent level. Apparently the first ones are mostly level 10, then they go to anything from level 10 - 50. Edited November 13, 2011 by Seekirus

One hit and I was dead and flying in the air like Babe Ruth was swinging for the fences.

PolyOlefin
I don't get how you're afraid of dragons but have no problem with zombies and reanimated glowing-eyed skeletons in dark, claustrophobic dungeon corridors. I saw a Skyrim mod that replaced all giant spiders with bears, for people who have arachnophobia. Really? I'd be deathly afraid of real-life evil skeletons too, but they don't actually exist. Likewise, there's no such things as giant spiders... you're looking at polygons and pixels on a flat screen. But I guess the whole point of phobias is that they are irrational fears...
