capngagi
8.5 seems pretty fair to me, the UI alone is enough to knock a point or two off the score.I don't believe UI should be much of a games score. daventry
I hate to give this Game a Low Score, but these Crashes and Bugs on the PC are doing me in, thus i do give Skyrim a 10/10 but hurry up with that Patch bethesda

It should be in the score...if the ui is broken, or if you have to fight every single keybinding to get somewhere it affects the whole gameplay.Sadly having a modable game, made beth lazy becouse they count on the modders to fix everything for them, wich they ofcourse will...maybe next tes game they wont even bother and let the modders do the port :wallbash:
Xydonus
Metacritic First off I love Skyrim, I've already played it almost 30 hours since release. But I headed over to metacritic to see how other gamers like it and to my surprise it sits at only an 8.5. After reading through some of these people's complaints I think some of them are pretty legitimate, and people who have complaints they are all saying the same thing. User reviews tend to be a bit sketchy, well some of them. The '1.0' ones are usually trolls, or people who bought Skyrim and for some reason or another can't play it, or they've encountered a s*** loads of glitches for some reason (I've hardly encountered any), and while I can understand they would be mega-pissed if they had legitimate reasons, I wouldn't go out of my way to write a review and RAGE on it like some of them do. So I would take that metacritic user review stat with a pinch of salt.
mazakala
Aside from the clumsy menus and UI in general I have little to complain about. I've been playing two days straight with only one crash which was related to by graphics card and not the game per se. Bugs in general seem to be a little bit more rare than in most bethesda games, Oblivion was buggy as hell when it was released, and Fallout 3 kept crashing on me constantly... There's nothing wrong in this game that a good mod won't fix
billyro
I haven't even finished the main quest due to bugs, however I can still say that it is an excellent game. Even without the main quest, I'd still rate it 9/10. I agree with some of the UI complainers (lol) because I found it very annoying. Even now, I try and get a look at my character and I pull out my sword. Very annoying. Still, just because there are some bugs and the UI is bad, doesn't mean the game deserves to labelled "SUCKY". "PC users are having an awful allot of issues with crashing, texture problems, and all sorts of anomalies.""The graphics are both beautiful, and ugly at the same time. Already we had numerous mods to help clean up some of the body textures and bugs." Reminds me of Oblivion, which got GOTY and turned out one of the most successful games of all time. nijohc
to me this felt like a slightly upgraded (downgraded in some respects) oblivion and they expected the modding community to make it all better
Topher1
I'm just going to *censored* about somethings because that's what this has I guess turned into.Got it for PS3 seeing as this laptop is nothing short of s***. Had one freeze up which made me had to restart. However I am not bugged by it nor would I be shocked to see it happen again. I don't know, I see Bethesdas name on something and I go into it expecting crashing / freezing from my Fallout exp. (Played it on my old PC which was good, but I gave it to brother seeing as I moved out)Not to mention I get odd 30second-1min freezes sometimes and it doesn't even say anything like "Autosaving..." The UI bugs me and I wish I could see how my character looked. That's kinda essential to me with RPGs is having the option to have all the different item slots and see how your character looks. Maybe it's laziness but I like the convenience of the little model I can rotate on my screen. I didn't go into it with all that high of expectations just because of the company name to be honest. However it's not a s*** game and I honestly find it very entertaining. The issues I have I can not change so whatever. Considering the content I am given I am quite happy. I just hope they do improve and expand upon on it. Especially for the computer where there is so much more room to add old and new elements. I guess it's up to the mod community to save the day and do the companies job.
babis8142
I'll express my dissatisfaction as well. They are shameless to leave us with this horrible console ui. Why do I have to use the stupid wasd instead of clicking on magic with the mouse. Why do I have to press tab + a + a then scroll down to destruction with s then scroll to the once spell I need and then click the mouse? Bethesda should be ashamed of themselves. But that's my only complain. I mean the favourite system is glitched out. If you favourite two same weapons (like two iron longswords or something) you only get one of them. So if you want to constantly switch from bow to dual wielding two of the same weapons then you're cursed to use the HORRIBLE ui. But that's fixable. But they had NO RIGHT to dump this atrocious ui on pc's. HOWEVER! This is the best game since Oblivion (lol) and the last game I enjoyed as much is Fallout New Vegas. Just a better ui and damn I would have rated it 9.5. Now it's more like 7. Just for that HORRIBLE ui. I'll say it 100 times. doddibot
They game is a giant leap forward in some respects (graphics, dual-wielding combat, MAGIC, perk trees), and yet have also oversimplified many others (removing classes, attributes, merging some skills and totally removing my beloved acrobatics skill). In the name of 'streamlining', bah. And of course the UI has been steadily declining in PC usability since Morrowind. Oblivion had a terrible UI, and yet somehow Bethesda managed to make it even worse for Skyrim.
