Custom Spells You've Made

You telling me that Luck has to be constantly Fortified all throughout the match in order to boost the combatant's level? That any transient changes to Luck during the fight alters the combatant's health levels during the course of that match?

I'd figure the smart way to implement the health boost that Luck gives would be either when you place your bet (the convo with the bookie) or the moment you enter the cell (walking through the door). 2 or 3 seconds is enough time to do both.

If you talk to the ladies on the spectators' balcony, one of them will brag about her constant-effect Luck amulet. That amulet is what you are gambling against. You probably already noticed that you always win on the day she does not show up. Maybe you should follow her home one night?

Back on topic:

Just to see if I could even cast it, I modified my assassination spell.

Grasp of Sithis

Paralyze 60 seconds on touch

Soul Trap for 60 seconds

Damage Health 100 pts for 60 seconds

- SoulSteal

Drain health on tgt 100pts for 1 sec

Soultrap on tgt for 1 sec

My version of the spell: same effects, same name. ;)

- Love at first sight

Charm on touch 100pts for 2 sec

Female character's version: Seductive Kiss. Male character's version: Jedi Mind Trick.

- Colpo di culo (italian for sudden great luck)

Fortify Luck on self 100pts for 2 sec

My version of the same spell: Wager's Warp (odd, though, I use it just before betting on Arena matches, and every time I do so, my combatant loses).

Colpo di culo - I use it when opening Ayleid reliquaries, jewelry boxes, and other promising chests.

Female character's version: Seductive Kiss. Male character's version: Jedi Mind Trick.

I call my custom charm "Hypnosis."

My character uses the "Hypnotise" appellation for Command spells, "Seduce" for the Charm spells, and "Mesmerise" for the Calm spells.

The girl also has a 1-second Paralyze spell (from her days in the lower skill levels) called "Face Slap". She sure knows how to reject a Bandit's unwelcome advances. Doesn't stops them, just drops them.

I really love what you can do with master level restoration.

Touch of Inervation:

Absorb Health 40 points for 2 seconds in 10 feet on touch.

Absorb Magicka 40 points for 2 seconds in 10 feet on touch.

I came up with this sort of spell out of despeartion. I didn't start the main quest untill level 35, and often found 4+ dremora ganging up on my squishy mage character. I don't wear armor and I never used shield enchants, only buffs on this char, so I had to come up with something. So I started experimenting with AoE effects and found the drain life + magicka supremely effective, since if there is more than one target I get my mana back from casting it. The reason it is 2 seconds, is the dremora bastages dispelled it if it lasted longer.

A couple spells to complement this aoe touch style of play..

Ring of Fire:

Fire Damage 60 points for 2 seconds in 15 feet on touch.

Weakness to Magicka 75% for 7 seconds in 15 feet on touch.

Gave me something to do with all the mana I was draining, and enhanced the effectiveness of the drains.

Stasis Field:

Paralyze for 4 seconds in 15 feet on touch.

For when I got chain knock-backed and was in danger of dying.

Only down side is I had a lot of trouble when fighting side by side with NPC's LOL. They were usually out of luck. I had to make a spell absorb buff to put on Martin to keep him alive while we made our way to the temple.

"Frostwrym's Breath" = projectile-type high magnitude Frost Damage for 3 seconds, and Paralyze for 3 seconds. Makes it appear that the victim froze solid upon impact with the shot.

My Casandra also crafted up a simple Master-level "Frost Damage 12 for 60 Seconds on Touch", the best she could muster on her natural Magicka pool of 220, which I had named "Kiss of The Ice Queen". Cassie's an Imperial, but her father was a Nord, so that explains her affinity for Frost spells.

Soon as she gives a Bandit a "kiss", she sheathes her sword and begins walking away. Why bother with him any further? He's dead, but just doesn't know it yet.

The only ones with any possible chance of surviving such a kiss are her cousinly Nords, as it should be.

Ouw my, since I haven't played Oblivion for a long time (since September... the time when my GeForce 6600 demise came upon my rig),

I recall two things:

- Masochistic Pleasure

- Disarmorization

Masochistic Pleasure is a small spell; Fireball, Lightning, or Ice, with a power of 1 point, and inflicts the character.

Good for training the Destruction and Restoration  (hence the name Masochistic Pleasure).

Disarmorization is a small spell too, it is a Disintegrate Armor version which inflicts the character's own armor.

Good for training smithing skill.

I've been making a few in the CS lately, lets say there's a pretty good reason that the command human/creature, demoralise and soothe spells don't work at high level.

They're very powerful when you make them area effects that work up to lvl 75.

I've been making lots of creatures spawn in Anvil and beefed up the citizens so they don't die, so you can have a mass brawl involving 30-40 actors and cast a command or soothe spell and they all stop fighting.

It works well when you want friendlies to stop fighting each other before someone dies too.

Soothe will only cause a break in the fight though, you need command if you want the fight to stop.

The game is coded so that any Level 25 effect (the highest you can scroll up in the Altar) will affect any applicable target at any time. A Level 25 Command Humanoid spell will affect a Level 50 Bandit with no problem.

The trick is Spell Effectiveness— the 95% you get with even the lightest piece of armor means all of your Level 25 effects suddenly become no stronger than Level 24, and that breaks the magic.
