I recently came across a mod on the nexus called "Sparky's Quantum Adventure" Basically this is a quest mod that allows you to travel back in time with the purpose of stopping the bombs from ever falling, via the use of a time machine. I haven't actually played it but i watched some playthroughs and i could tell from them that I wouldn't really like the direction the mod took. I won't go into specifics for fear of spoiling a mod someone else painstakingly made but what I will say is that i think i could give it a crack myself. So here goes nothing. I've got some previous modding experience, mostly with the Skyrim creation kit and some basic level and quest mods I never published so i'm not new to the creation kit but i'm very far from being a professional modder. What i am very good at is creating a good story and putting it down on paper. Now obviously an interactive dialogue such as fallout's speech system is a far cry from simply writing down a story for someone to read but its a story either way, the main difference i that the one fallout uses is many times more complex. Anyway, the ideas i've got going so far are this. Upon exiting vault 111 the sole survivor is approached by a man who appears just as you leave the vault. Upon asking him who he is or what he is doing speaking to you he explains to you that he is from seventy years in the future. He explains in length that you fought in a great war against the enemies of the commonwealth. He was a scientist who came to you after the war ended and received funding, supplies and personnel from you in order to build a time machine from incomplete pre-war blueprints and research with the intention of using it to travel back in time and prevent the bombs from falling by any means necessary. After ten years of work when the device was complete the facility that housed it was attacked by unknown assailants. Just before the scientist stepped into the time machine your future self held the line with his or her remaining soldiers in order to allow him to escape and fulfil his original mission. The last thing the scientist saw before being teleported away in a flash of light was your death at the hands of a strange masked figure, the leader of the enemy soldiers. The machine malfunctioned and sent the scientist into a time limbo of sorts where he was forced to conduct emergency repairs on it. He tried to go back to fifty years in the future in order to save you but another malfunction sent him to the present, when you left vault 111. The time machine is now heavily damaged and will likely only be able to make one more trip before being destroyed, if that. The scientist begs you to help him conduct another set of repairs on the almost-useless machine in an attempt to get to the past so that you may stop the bombs from falling. You realise that if you stop the bombs from falling you'll never be frozen, meaning that your partner will never be killed and Shaun will never be taken. Your mind is made up in an instant and you begin your quest to... Go Back In Time And Save The Universe!
