BarefootWarrior
Lots of good comments here, keep it coming. You never know, maybe there are some folks from Bethesda snooping around actually reading these posts, eh? So far, it sounds like most still enjoy the game despite the issues, at least that's good. But it could have been much, much better. I'm just taking my time and going through it.
etayorius
I found out Bethesda removed the facial expresions that were awsome in Skyrim... well, maybe they are still there but i still havent seen my char make an Angry, Sad or Happy face like my char did in Oblivion... also i agree with the hairstyles, they are kinda Dull... and they should bring back the lenght options for Hairstyles. One thing that really getting in my nerves is the AI... it just keeps blocking my path on small places and there is no way to push them or move them, sometimes there is an enemy in front of me and my "companion" behind me and the enemy kills me because i have no where to run... its really really frustating not being able to push the Companions out of the way. Anyway i am still having incredible time with Skyrim, like some sort of drug i cant stop playing... anyway i wouldnt have my hopes so high in Bethesda fixing some of the things mentioned here, but AI must definetly needs to be improved or at least be able to push the Companions out of the way. Check this video: I couldnt stop laughing! but honestly... thats how smart is the AI in Skyrim, Oblivion AI was superior in all directions. BarefootWarrior
LMAO!!! Yep, been there, happened to me. Lydia is one tough lady. Just kept picking herself up and kept going, still is. Anyway, I hope you don't mind me keeping this thread alive. You started with some good comments and I added my two cents worth. I didn't want to start up another 'review' thread. Thanks for the new post, loved it. Another issue has popped up for me by the way. I cannot get the mouse to respond quickly enough no matter how I adjust the settings, getting to be a real pain. Nor can I get any hot keys to work. I have to keep going to the menu to change things, not liking that at all. :wallbash: My other big complaint is the booklet that came with the game. This one item should have been done much better. It took me quite a whole to figure out what the icons on the search/compass meant and this should have been explained. Very poor game manual. oh well... scuse me for now, I have to go look for some dog out in the wilds, seem to have lost him. Edited November 17, 2011 by BarefootWarrior

Dreadarm
6 - No Dodge Perk and no Hand to Hand Perks (Hand to Hand is still there, but i would liked to see Perks for this. Not that it is really any good, but there is one dodge perk in sneak skills, it allows you to roll forward. And there is also a hand to hand perk under heavy armor. etayorius
Seems the Forum does not allow many videos in a comment, but here is a a couple more. How to properly Steal from any Store. (this must be a joke from Bethesda, this may or not be a Glitch) Giant Gods. Dreadarm
I'll jump in on this one First off, I don't care if this game is an rpg or what ever, makes no difference to me. It is what I see on the screen and how it plays, the details and whether the games sucks me in or not, that is...makes we want to play it. I can agree with you on most of your post. About the only real thing I am very disappointed on is character creation. This issue has been brought up a lot. I affectionately call my character the 'dumpster warrior'. We seem to be stuck with middle aged base avatars and I think the option to make you character young to older should have been available. Further, he has no personality, very 'lifeless' as it were. I went back to Oblivion: Elder Scrolls and took a look at my warrior in the game and he at least had some personality. If he was just standing, he would look around, he would look at anyone talking to him, and even frown or bust out with a big smile sometimes. A little detail perhaps and yes, I am being nit picky, but a little detail that gives some life to your character. My dumpster warrior just stands there, no expression, blinks his eyes and responds to nothing until you move him. Further, the hair looks liked they dumped their heads in a vat of grease...LOL. I also very annoyed that we can't mix and match clothes or armor. Example would be, just wearing pants, and change the shirt, or just go shirtless, instead we are stuck with 'outfits'. They may claim it is to save on resources...sorry, not buying that. Other games have done it quite well, even on the console platform. And lastly, the human avatar mesh and texures are not up to par with the rest of the game, very poor human models in my opinion. One would think that by now, decent human models with good detail would be produced. I refer to the human models in games such as W2, or Fable 3 as an example. high detail and good skin textures.I'm not too crazy about the UI either, but am learning it as I go. It is obviously geared for the console, oh well. I agree with the animations, a bit of a let down on that one, especially when in a fight. I think the animations from Withcer 2 are far better, more detailed and graceful if I can use the word. To date, the best sword play animations I have seen are from (and I hate to admit this) are from Fable 3. If they can do it on a console platform, they should be able to do it here I would think. The walking animation in this game makes my warrior look like he is walking with a stick up...errr..well, you get the idea. Not a smooth walk, very rigid and even the running animation leaves a lot to be desired. And I was surprised that we didn't get a 'roll' animation to roll out of a situation if we wanted. No footprints in the snow? Yeah, I have to agree on this too, again, a minor detail, but an important one. Going back to Fable 3, you had footprints in the sand, and they even went to the detail of the sound of you walking or running. To add to this detail, the game even knew if you had boot/shoes on or in barefeet. With the shoes, you heard a 'clumping' sound and in barefeet, you heard the soft sound of your feet. There was even sand being kicked up by your feet as you walked. Before anyone jumps on me about Fable 3, no, I was not crazy about the game, but I was impressed with the little details that they put into the game. And they had good looking human models, unlike this game and so did Witcher 2. I too have many issues with my companion getting in the way, and have blasted her many times, but she keeps getting back up...LOL! But it does annoy me when she keeps getting in my way. OK, that being said. I still like this game despite the issues just mentioned and I am now starting to enjoy it. The environment is beautiful and I love the environmental sounds you hear when out playing or exploring. I am one that likes to play with minimal armor or clothing, I am that 'barefoot warrior' after all, but I have to tell you that this game has the best winter environments I have ever seen. Looking at it and hearing it makes me cold, and I do want my warrior in warm clothing. I'm on ultra settings and totally enjoying exploring in this game, Bethesda did a wonderful job on this aspect. I like seeing all the animals running around and the the rivers and lakes, water falls in particular are awesome. I am enjoying the storyline so far and have no complaints there. Love the music and the voice overs. I differ with you on the textures. I think the textures are very good in this game with exception of our human warrior's. I am a detail person and I do enjoy creating my own textures for my own work, so I do look at this item very closely. The texture details on the environment, the houses, weapons, forts, etc are quite good in my opinion. I still think the textures were a bit better in Witcher 2, but that's just me. So far, I have not had any issues with game performance. I did resent having to go to a third party (Steam) to activate my game. I want Steam completely out of the picture if I choose to do so and that should have been an option. Bottom line so far, I do like this game and I will get many hours of enjoyment out of it. I feel that it is worth the money I paid for it. I will wait for the modders to come out with their work and I too will be waiting for the Tool Set. But I did learn one lesson out of this game. I will never again get excited about a new game, especially of this genre. I will wait till anything new comes out before I buy it and I will never pre-order anything again. I got burned on DA2 and all the hype about this game was a bit over the top. The only one that really met most expectations was Witcher 2, and I didn't even buy it until after it was released. I think the game industry better keep an eye on those folks over in Poland. All of that being said, I'm having a good time with this one. Want the REAL reason why all of the textures are low res and hair looks like shat? and... (well i cant explain the lack of options under character creations) but the game was made for console then ported to pc. so everything is designed to run on a 150 dollar computer with a few things added for the pc users but the base game is made for an extremely low end computer. example Exbox 360 guts vs a REAL computers Guts. http://www.xmod360.nl/wp-content/uploads/2009/06/rrodscrews.png http://g-tech-pc.com/images/T3%20Promis.jpg The capacitors alone are crap on these boards, there is little to no heat management and frankly the system just cant handle what Skyrim Could have been. I wont even mention the video card (it was good for its time... but its time to move on.)
JesterKing
First let me start off by saying I love this game. I am so immersed but I feel so lonely. I will only try out companions once I can make all companions essential. I believe there is a console command... But then I have to find one I like. Any ideas anyone? Also marriage has to be overhauled *cough* Romance *cough*. I don't play to many pc games so I won't complain about the graphics. They are spectacular compared to the console games I'm used to. water *drool*.

I think you can tweak the skyrim.ini to fix the mouse, also i have no idea why cant you bind powers/shouts/weapons just like in Oblivion with the Key numbers and FKeys, i really dont like to have to press tab each time just to change a weapon, i cant seem to get the "F" key (Favorites) to work on my rig (or maybe i am doing something wrong) because i tried hundreds of times to use the favorites menu with no success, Bethesda is infact working for another patch for all consoles and PC (AWSOME), i really hope they fix the UI and the Custom Keyboard config and maaaybe just maaaaaybe they could make the NPC Companions to move whenever you try to push them, i know they move when you stand next to them but it takes too much time for them to actually just give a small step backwards.
