TheMather1
I'd like to see a mod for training regular settlers into minutemen settlers, like the ones you start with at the Castle. Maybe make it a passive timed event that converts a random settler at the Castle and/or whichever settlement Preston is stationed at every in-game day or so. It'd also be nice then if the minutemen settlers provided some small amount of defense, say 5 units each.
Degby1
One way I can think of is if the mod gradually replaces Settlers with Minutemen, for instance - you have 5 Settlers, a week later you have 3 Settlers and 2 Minutemen. The way it would work is by replacing the current Settlers with Minutemen at a rate of 1 every 3 days. In order to make this happen you'd need a script that disables that Settler, spawns a generic Minuteman and enables them. Failing this approach, a terminal could be rigged up in the Castle that allows you to manually override Settler attributes and essentially convert them into Minutemen. But i'm pretty sure someone has a better solution to the 2 I came up with
JackTrenton
Also you could apply animations to some of the settlers. They could be programmed to do push ups like the BOS soldiers on the Prydwen. A firing range could be set up with people firing like the soldiers in the Citadel in Fallout 3. Also the player can get directly involved in the training by issuing instructions and commands, like how you train up the NCR squad at Camp Golf in New Vegas. It would be awesome if you could teach them flanking tactics and squad maneuvers. It would also be nice to be able to assess skill points or whatnot to individual settlers/minutemen and send them on missions to various points in the Commonwealth. A skill/experience check could determine if they survive the mission or not (based on the difficulty of the mission), and you could then allocate more skill/experience points, and have them turn over the sweet gear they found on the mission. I envision something like the system in Assassin's Creed Brotherhood where you send all of your assassin apprentices throughout Europe while you fight the battle in Rome. I'd love to see my soldiers actually look and perform like an actual military force.
TheMather1
That seems like a bit too much work for something that is effectively pointless for the main game. I just want to make it feel like I'm actually doing my job as the general of the Minutemen, and that the settlements are affiliated to and protected by the minutemen rather than just me.
