Xenobuzz
Hey, all! I decided to give Xepha537's Dynamic Weather a try. I first dl'ed and installed the old FOMM program since I don't have New Vegas (yet). I agreed to associate all files with FOMM. I then dl'ed and extracted all the Dynamic Weather files I wanted to my Fallout/Data folder. MainDLCDynamic Sneak BonusNight Eye EditionRain Sandstorm Two problems: none of the above files appear when I start FOMM, and I cannot check them via the Fallout Launcher as I now only get an error message from Securerom telling me to use the original disc and not a backup. Well, I am using the original disc! All the other Mods I've dl'ed and extracted the exact same way (Fellout, Streetlights, Night Vision Glasses, GNR Enhanced, Fallout 3 master fix) have worked perfectly. Not sure what to do here. BlackRampage
What version of FoMM are you using? Even if you don't have New Vegas you should get the latest version. And in what folder did you install it? Also: Since you mentioned the master fix: Could you please post your load order? I chose the traditional FO3 only FOMM, the second option on this page: http://www.fallout3nexus.com/downloads/file.php?id=640 It is installed in my Fallout 3 folder. My current load order, which I changed slightly according FOMM's recommendations: Fallout3.esmAnchorage.esmThePitt.esmBroken Steel.esmPointLookout.esmZeta.esmStreetLights.esmFellout-Full.espGNR Enhanced.espNight Vision Sunglasses.espFallout 3 Master Fix.esp An interesting note: the securerom issue seems to have been resolved somehow. However, the esm list in the Data Files directory in the Fallout Launcher list is alphabetical, not in the order that FOMM has them. I'm assuming that this isn't an issue? Dave S. BlackRampage
I chose the traditional FO3 only FOMM, the second option on this page: http://www.fallout3nexus.com/downloads/file.php?id=640 That's the 0.12.6 version, isn't it? I'd still recommend getting the latest (0.13.21) version. If only because many newer mods do not "support" that version. Also, when you un-install the old FoMM, then re-install the newest version, make sure not to install it in the Fallout 3 folder. Yes, that's the reason why your load order is messed up. I think the latest version already installs itself in it's own seperate folder by default, but you might want to check to make sure anyway. Load order: First off: get Fellout's "DLC support" .esp's from the fellout mod download tab. Master fix mod is same story as above but that file has been hidden. It also happens to have been "obsoleted" by Fallout RemasteredI'd suggest removing master fix and downloading that one instead. When you do: don't forget to download the compatibility patches. It includes a patch for Fellout. (which is the one you need) After all that: Rearrange your (new) load order like this: Fallout3.esmAnchorage.esmThePitt.esmStreetLights.esmBroken Steel.esmPointLookout.esmZeta.esmFellout-Full.espFellout-Anchorage.espFellout-BrokenSteel.espFellout-PointLookout.espFellout-Zeta.espGNR Enhanced.espNight Vision Sunglasses.espFallout Remastered.espFallout Remastered - Fellout.esp

Well, the new FOMM installed ok. I changed the following directory paths: Mod Directory: C:Program Files/Bethesda Softworks/Fallout 3/Data <-- this is the directory where all my mods are. Install info: C:Program Files/Bethesda Softworks/Fallout 3 <-- this is the directory where the game is installed. However, I'm seeing a very different mod list than the one you've posted. Here is mine: Fallout3.esmAnchorage.esmThePitt.esmStreetLights.esmBroken Steel.esmPointLookout.esmZeta.esmFellout-Full.espNight Vision Sunglasses.espGNR Enhanced.espFallout Remastered.espFallout Remastered - Fellout.esp After that, I have a VERY long list of additional Fallout Remastered mods (RIL, FWP, Scavenger World + FWE and Mart's Mutants Mods esps, just to name a few) . However, none of them are listed as available (all are listed as NA in the Mod Index tab). I understand why this is the case, since I don't have those mods. However, even though I have almost all of Xepha's Dynamic Weather mods in my Data folder where all the other mods are, that mod is also NA and the game crashes if it's checked. What's my next step? BlackRampage
Well, those additional remastered .esp's aren't exactly mods themselves. They are compatibilty patches to make the Remastered mod work with those mods. The only ones you need are: Fallout Remastered - Fellout.espFallout Remastered - Xepha's Dynamic Weather.esp However, xepha's dynamic weather conflicts with Fellout. If you have both installed you'll miss out on some of Dynamic weather's features.Personally I'd go for xepha's dynamic weather. So in that case you can remove both Fallout Remastered - Fellout.esp and Fellout-Full.esp As for Xepha's dynamic weather: If you installed it correctly, you should have the following plugins listed in your load order: Xepha's Dynamic Weather.esmXepha's Dynamic Weather - Main.espXepha's Dynamic Weather - Anchorage.espXepha's Dynamic Weather - The Pitt.espXepha's Dynamic Weather - Broken Steel.espXepha's Dynamic Weather - Point Lookout.esp Correct? If so, rearrange your load order like this: Fallout3.esmAnchorage.esmThePitt.esmStreetLights.esmBroken Steel.esmPointLookout.esmZeta.esmXepha's Dynamic Weather.esmNight Vision Sunglasses.espGNR Enhanced.espXepha's Dynamic Weather - Main.espXepha's Dynamic Weather - Anchorage.espXepha's Dynamic Weather - The Pitt.espXepha's Dynamic Weather - Broken Steel.espXepha's Dynamic Weather - Point Lookout.espFallout Remastered.espFallout Remastered - Xepha's Dynamic Weather.esp If it still crashes or something like that, post your entire load order. How to post your entire load order? Start FoMM, go to "Load Order" at the top, then from the dropdown menu select: "Copy to Clipboard". Then you can paste it in your reply by using paste. (or just press crtl + V on your keyboard.)
Jeoshua
It's worth noting, as well, that The "Fellout - Full" distribution is not the only file that would need to be run for Fellout itself when used with Remastered, you need the DLC tweaks too. And while XDW does overwrite much of Fellout, it doesn't overwrite everything. So there is still reason to use them together, even if one overrides half of the other. A full Load Order is the only way that it can be found out if you actually have all the files that you will need for your chosen mods. Export the load order, don't just Copy to Clipboard. That way we can tell exactly what the problem is much more easily. The problem you seem to be experiencing is that Fallout will attempt to load every file mentioned in the header files of the files you directly select. For example, if you deselect every mod then turn on just remastered, Fallout will in fact load up with all the DLCs as if they were turned on, too. If, through this process, Fallout comes across a file that does not exist on your hard drive, it will freeze in the manner you're experiencing. It also can happen when it doesn't find the exact record that it's looking for. Under the hood, this is the same thing (Fallout asks for a specific record, doesn't find it, freezes). So technically, if all you want is the DLCs, Fellout, and XDW enabled, try just turning on the compatibility patches for Fallout Remastered, and Remastered itself. ---Stuff not related to these issues directly: Furthermore, Master Fix wasn't exactly "obsoleted". The original designers all had differences of opinion and went their separate ways. Then, after Remastered attempted to be the spiritual successor of the original intent, Tommy and myself came to an arrangement where his code could be attributed. So Remastered, in future versions, will become actual successor to Master Fix, incorporating much of the same code and being worked on by the same authors, plus some. Jeoshua
If you mean a way to tell is what esp/esm filees you have installed, you just posted it. FOMM will give a list of every mod, turned on or not, when you export it. If you mean EVERY file in the data folder... please spare us that many details. There are ways to do it but, for fear you might actually do it, I dare not say ;) I just updated Fallout Remastered, so you might want to delete those esp files and download the new ones. There shouldn't be a problem updating and you will be better able to select the compat patches you need (and there don't seem to be any other than the Atmospheric Pack)

Is there a way to copy and past a list of all the files in my Data folder without having type out every single one?You mean just the .esm's and .esp's? Sure: Option 1: Open FoMM, go to "load order", select "Copy to clipboard", then use paste to put it in your next post, a word file or wherever you want.Option 2: Open FoMM, go to "load order", select "Export". Then it will ask you if you want to create a .txt file where you want to save it. When that's complete you can use copy & paste to copy it into your next post.
