Schattenmann
Hey guys, im not "new" to skyrim and modding but most of the time i just install mods , read the description sections very carefully and do an "install-and-go" run to see if its stable. Now i figured out that some bigger mods like summerset isle and Vigilant cause many user to have the "skill menue lag/freeze bug". unfortunately it happens for me too... but i really like to play summerset isle and vigilant. :(i read that for almost all users "esmifying" fixed that problem and i was wondering how to do that?i looked up on google and the forums but found nothing "noob friendly" or something with a step-by-step tutorial. could anyone be so kind to explain it to me (as simple as possible) pls? greetings and thx in advance  Edited June 27, 2016 by Schattenmann
Ghaunadaur
How would esmifying a mod fix anything? Where did you read that? It will likely cause more trouble than it solves, I don't recommend doing this. As for esmifying in general, this is probably done easiest with Wrye Bash. Just make a right click on the mod and choose 'Esmify' from the menu.

It may be different if you're using Mod Organizer. Do it on your own risk.
Madcat221
ESMifying for use in the game itself can ONLY be done with TES5Edit. The ONAM header subrecord needs to be properly formed, and TES5Edit is the only tool that does that. Wrye Bash only flips the ESM bit flag in the module header. That's what I mean, since a master file can't make edits to another master file without adding the records to the ONAM list. Tes5edit doesn't do that automatically, as far I know.
