Mithrot
Hey guys, wondering if anyone can help start me off in the right direction by figuring out why Skyrim lags. Oh no, I don't mean in-game performance- I meant the speed of the menus. For some reason, the menu feels like its at 15FPS as it animates while the game (on my laptop) runs at around 40. On my other PC and my PS3, this is still the same and I'm surprised noone mentioned this yet (to my limited newbie knowledge). Is it an internal limitation/hard-coded within Scaleform or is it set by a command that anyone here might know? I'm looking around in the files but can't fidn anything yet. Thanks. :)
TheRealRaVir
Scaleform lets you pick the framerate - it's just the framerate you chose in the Flash editor. They may have set it to some low number so the interface didn't use up too much processing power (more of an issue with consoles I guess). Deleted440451User
False, I've managed to be able to decompile and compile UI elements. I can higher the framerate in my mods.
NeoG
I can't say I have experienced this Whenever I open any menu (ESC,Tab,J,M,Q) my framerate goes from 40 (in game) to 60 (fps cap) I have confirmed this is the case with Fraps, aswell it feels a lot smoother in the menus Do you have a specific example? They mean the responsiveness of the ui itself is slow. Not overall game performance.
