Need help !

Hello everyone,

 

I would like help from you experienced players. This is my 1st Oblivion game, although I play for >150h.

 

My problem is that at the end of the MG questline, I meet Mannimarco, end the pointless discussion, and then, after he refuses a coffee and a cigarette, I understand it is time to kill him.

 

But... every sword I try to use does not hit him. I even tried to poison it and after the hit the poison remains on the blade. There is also no hit sound.

Also spells (target, touch, area) and staffs have no effect on him.

 

I never faced this problem until now, and I have no MODs changing Mannimarco.

 

Could anyone here help me ?

Have you tried talking to him? Can't do anything till you talk to him.

I'd say he's bugged.

 

You can try going again from an earlier save or just kill him using the console.

 

You don't miss much not fighting him, he's weak.

Make sure you are not using an enchanted weapon, he either absorbs or reflects it (I can not remember which). If your hand-to-hand is higher than 10 you could probably even just punch him to death, he is pretty lame.

belegduwin - I already discussed with him, then he attacked first.

 

WoogieMonster - I understand that sword enchantement would not hurt him, but the sword itself should. Also, I tried one without any more charges, he does not seem to get hit. Also, it would not explain the poison bug.

 

Micko - I will try an earlier save out of the cavern, and rush through to kill him to see what happens.

Heya,

I had the same problem with him the last save game I played. I thought (still don't know yet) that it was caused by a mod I was using. So I simply used the kill command in the console. Those big skeleton fingers won't dissapear then, so you have to jump a little to get out of the cave tho. I hope reloading your save game helps. I've tried different things for 30 mins and nothing worked :)

Actually, it's a common enough bug. There are a few solutions in-game.

 

If you have Reflect Spell or Reflect Damage, you can stand your ground and let Manny kill himself trying to kill you.

 

This invincible force-field that protects him can't do a thing to save him from drowning. Put him in the drink, have him follow you into the tunnel and cast Buoyancy on yourself until the guy drowns.

 

Can't hit him with a weapon? Hit him with an entire planet instead! Jump off a cliff. Survive the fall. Make sure he doesn't.

I did try Reflect Damage / Spell but I did not have enough potions with me, and poor quality spells. In any case, if I well remember, it seemed to slowly reduce his health.

 

The cliff jump and drown seem very nice jokes, I will try them for sure...

Mannimarco is a easy fight . He more relies on his silver dagger than spells.

For the bug try a new savegame or try to talk to him or else battle wont start.
