Gilibran
Just trying to help, no need to pay anyone, most here have been modding since Morrowind long before mod managers and seen it all, but all we have to go on basically is: I got 1 mod working, then i tried another but it does not work. Tried another, and it too does not work. And a clean install is not deactivating mods and wiping them. A clean install is delete the entire game and re-install it a ton of things can go wrong if you make even a small unintended mistake editing your ini files. I understand you spend alot of frustrating hours searching for answers but for all we know you have been asking the wrong questions. iSagan
eeeeeeeeeeeeehhhhhh maybe I'll come back tomorrow but this is a mess.I told you I would edit my original post with the link, Purr4me. The link is there no need to guess. Forums are such a pain in the a** no one ever reads the full post. This seems like it would be a simple fix based on some file location issues, no need to dive so deep into it. I do everything correctly and it works smoothly up until activation; I never actually get to see the mod take effect in game. Surely you can work with that? But what you're doing is exactly the 'technical BS' im talking about. You're way off in the deep end. Its most likely a problem with the manager finding the files, or permissions to access them. No reason to go all Lester Crest on me.I originally asked for a simple walk through, nothing more complicated than that is needed, and in fact it would most likely create further issues and more stress on my part. Purr4me
ok, so exactly where is the mod manager and the steam system installed At ? If it is sitting in the default location C:\Program Files And Folders(x86) or other? then you have a windows permission issue. you CAN not escape techno-garble here, sorry, it's not how it works, I have no clue as to how or what your PC contains things. Every one here Will go to great lengths to help IF they know about them. Question: why are you NOT asking in the NMM threads to begin with? Gilibran
This seems like it would be a simple fix based on some file location issues, no need to dive so deep into it. I do everything correctly and it works smoothly up until activation; I never actually get to see the mod take effect in game. Surely you can work with that? No we can not, because if you did everything correctly as you say so yourself, there is no reason the mods should not show up. And since tens of thousands of people are playing fallout with a lot of mods without problems, it has to be some error on your side. Modding on PC is not as straightforward as it might seem and an honoust mistake is easily made. Especially if you just started. Solving mod problems is mostly aproaching it step by step. Now back to your problem assuming you did everything else correctly. Have you checked your plugins.txt file? Look under "enabling mods" in the link i posted earlier for info on the plugins.txt file. You might need to add the esp names and put an asterix* in front of the filename. Also try steam in offline mode if you have not already.
iSagan
Yeah I'm not even bothering with you 2.I DID install it correctly, AND LIKE I'VE SAID 4 TIMES NOW I got a mod working. It was 3 days later the Nexus stopped working for no apparent reason.
AreeSoothsayer
What version of windows are you using?
iSagan
I'm on windows 7 Aree.I unistalled all the files again, checked the .ini's for the 7th time, and found my way to the plugins file and checked to make sure its okay. Everything is on the up and up. Purr4Me and Gilibran haven't even come close to even catching up to me yet. They're still carrying on about the .ini files and Purr4Me is basically just showing off their mod prowess while completely ignoring my replies. So I STILL HAVE THE PROBLEM in case anyone is wondering. Offer still stands, I could do about 10 an hour if someone is able to help me on team viewer/skype and manages to do something I couldn't do (i'm not paying for a 4 hour repeat of what I've already done no way) but I'm kinda desperate to jump back into the game and now that I've seen what the mods are capable of I'm sticking to my guns and I want this to happen before I restart a new game.I just want to point out that I'm strongly against unistalling the Nexus Mod Manager. If I lose the console mod in survival mode I may as well kiss my file good bye and accept being a victim to countless bugs. So if anyone is able to help, lets work around that issue until its required. However I don't think it will help in any way, it previously installed the console mod with no issues and its still working as intended. For some reason a couple of days after I installed that mod, no other mods have been working and chrome stopped letting me click the links to download (I can use explorer fine tho so please don't talk about browsers)Here is an example of just 1 issue I'm having:http://oi64.tinypic.com/14tpy5y.jpgNo matter how often I try to activate it, the installation pops/progress bar up for all but a milisecond then cancels, resulting in the mod to deactivate. My other issues include downloading and modifying files successfully, only to activate the mod and see no effect whatsoever. I've tried on about 6 seperate mods. Edited June 30, 2016 by iSagan
