lateral
Hi guys, I just wanted to know how most people on the nexus use their mods. Previously I used to install it manually (just out of preference didnt want to use NMM). Download the esp to data and change the plugins.txt file and launch F4SE. I don't know if there's many people who do that now, but I feel after the mod update, the FO4 launcher/mod "manager" has been screwing a lot of things up and I wanted to see your take on it. Apart from the interface, would using the mod manager in-game be any worse?
q111
NMM all the way. The problem with the ingame-updater is that there might be an update that actually break the game. You can disable automatic updates, yes, but sometimes it's more important to know how to update. Also the ingame-menu simply doesn't work, since you still need an particular loading order. Also some updates requires a few steps for an update, that's far easier with an Mod Manager. Also there are a lot of mods that actually requires an script to get installed, especially now since there's still not NMM and F4SE lacks a lot of features. So some mods actually requires some decisions.
Royhr
I primarily use NMM. However at times I also install manually depending on the mod. But again I use NMM for the most part basically because I'm just lazy and it works well at least for me.
