PurpleOblivion
My only experience with patches on Oblivion is from the 360 days, but now that I wanna try the game on PC I was wondering how those worked. Are they automatic like the 360, or do I need to download the Official patches from the Nexus? And, would the Unofficial Patch be better than the Official, or is it an either-or sort of thing? :{o
Surilindur
You should use both the official and unofficial patches. The unofficial patches are just "normal" mods, they just modify things to fix bugs. It is necessary to have the latest version of the game, but the official patches do not cover all the bugs in the game, not at all, and that is why the unofficial patches exist.if you do not have the game from Steam, you need to make sure your game version is the latest one - if not, then you need to update it using one or more of the official patchesif you have the game from Steam, it is already up to date, and you can forget about all official patchesin either case, you should use the unofficial patchesHopefully that helps the little. If you have the game from Steam (I think you mentioned that somewhere), you can forget about the official patches. Remember to install the unofficial patches if you want to get rid of bugs in the base game and all DLC. Surilindur
No problem. One both good and bad feature of Steam is having games up to date automatically.
