thelonghop
I've added some mods today and now every word or line of text in the game begins with a $. So $Save, $Quit, $Equip, $Drop, $Damage, $Gold, $Value....everything. Here are the mods I installed. I've tried uninstalling those that don't have tons of files with no effect. No_More_Blocky_Faces-1_30-30.7zDetailed_Faces-1_00-26-1-0.7zMain_file_-_Includes_clean_hands_-18-1-1.zipEnhanced_Blood_Textures-60-0-01.rarEnhanced_Night_Skyrim-85.zipNude_Females_v1-3_-_Full_Download-70-1-3.7zInterfaceHardCodedKeyTweaks_v103-88-1-03.zip I also installed the Savegame Manager and did the Large Address Aware Patch. I can't figure out how to take a screen cap or I'd post one. Any ideas on what may be causing this or how to fix it?
thelonghop
No one else having this problem? Does anyone know how I can look at the interface dialogue? Maybe I can fix it there.
JimboUK
The InterfaceHardCodedKeyTweaks would be my prime suspect, open the zip file so you can see exactly what the mod added and then go through your game folder/subfolders and make sure each and every file it added is removed from your game. If it does turn out to be that mod be sure to let the modder know.
luthienanarion
Jim is right about the key tweaks being the most suspect, as the rest are just texture replacers. Interface text is in the Interface folder, in a text file named Translate_[language].txt
thelonghop
Thanks guys. That was my first suspect as well. I'll look at it more closely and let you know.
Halaster
Thanks guys. That was my first suspect as well. I'll look at it more closely and let you know. I had this exact problem when I installed the Font mod, then I had problems so I removed it and my entire interface folder. That caused the exact problem you are seeing. I undeleted my interface folder, and specifically removed the font changes instead of the entire folder and the problem went away.
thelonghop
I've deleted everything within the Interface folder and I'm still having this problem. I've also deleted the ControlMap_Custom.txt file in the /skyrim folder. Is there a list of what files should be where? Maybe I deleted something I shouldn't have. Also, I found my screen caps, so here are pics of what it looks like.

Glad I'm not the only one to experience this, but sorry you had to deal with it as well. I don't remember anything being in the Interface folder before I added that mod. What should be in there? Is there any 'repair' that can be done?

Right click on the game in your Steam library and select "Properties", a box will pop up, click on the local files tab then finally hit the "Verify integrity of game cache" button, this will replace any missing, incorrect or broken files. Jim, you rock! That did it. It looks like that Translate .txt file was missing because that's all that I can see different. And looking at it, all the defaults start with $. Thanks to you and luthienanarion.
