mttmav
Hello,I have been having the same issue that many others have had, Skyrim is using my Intel HD graphics card instead of my Nvidia GTX560m. I was able to solve the problem for a while by using the Nvidia control panel to manually set the files "TESV" and "Skyrim Launcher" to the High performance NVIDIA processor, I was able to play on Ultra settings for about 10 hours with not a single frame rate issue. However, I added a few mods to the game and this caused it to mysteriously start using my Intel HD card instead. So I uninstalled the game, clearing all of the mods, and even uninstalled my graphics drivers and reupdated them. After this I redownloaded the game off steam, and again set the file "TESV" and "Skyrim Launcher" on the NVIDIA control panel to the High performance NVIDIA processor. However, this did not making any difference, Skyrim still can not detect my GTX560m. At this point I tried changing the global settings in the NVIDIA control panel so that the "preferred graphics processor" was the High performance NVIDIA graphics processor. However this did not help out the situation either. SOMEONE HELP ME I NEED TO PLAY SKYRIM AGHHH, such a good game!!
JimboUK
Can you disable the onboard in the bios?
mttmav
Can you disable the onboard in the bios?I just tried this a little bit ago after your suggestion. However in the BIOS their was no place to disable this so I had to disable the intel graphics card from the device manager. However immediately after doing this, the entire screen went black, and I restarted my computer. My computer started up fine, however for some reason it claimed that I no longer had an NVIDIA card on my GPU so at this point, I enabled my intel card once again and everything worked fine.. However the game still is trying to use it. I'm considering reinstalling windows and trying to uninstall the NVIDIA graphics driver and completely delete the game once again. Thanks for the idea though, and if you have any other idea's, just lemme know
mttmav
Just wanted to say, that I got it to work again by uninstalling my graphics card and the game, and then re-installing them both. Then I just repeated the steps that I talked about above. Worked like a charm!! :) Now that Skyrim is working I can now once again become an unproductive member of society lol
