Horses

Is it possible to take textures, meshes, UVs, scripts, etc. from Skyrim, and implant them into FO 4, so that the Sole Survivor and her companions can take horses out to the Commonwealth?

 

I ask this because...well..it would be so god damn badass if I could ride down the hill on horseback and use VATS to put down a mutant or even behead a raider if he got close enough.

Possible, maybe. Legal? Absof*#@inglutely not. Using content from -any- other game, even another Bethesda game, in a FO4 mod not only breaks the Nexus ToS, but copyright law as well.

Aside from the fact that it is against the TOS and copyright law, there are also no horses in the Fallout Universe. They went extinct after the Great War. If you want something like that, you'd be better off trying to make a Radstag mount or something similar - but horses won't work. :p

It would be cool to discover in the institutes files, some plans to make a Synthetic Horse. Maybe from that info a horse could be made. Afterall the Institute made synthetic gorillas. Maybe one of the Institute Scientists grabbed a butt-load of holotapes with science data during the evacuation before the bomb goes off and makes it out into the Commonwealth with it. Still, I do realise there would be a lot of work involved with this idea, because of needing horse textures and animations.

Horses are all extinct in North America but not much is known about Mexico or parts of Europe. It's unlikely the F.E.V. that killed off the Horses in North America drifted across the ocean to Europe and to Mexico or South America. So somewhere out there on the radiated world of Fallout there are probably Horses. Gary's Vault had cloning technology advanced enough to clone a human being if Horse DNA was found I'm sure they could be cloned in that Vault or other high tech factions could resurrect the Horse. Who knows about other parts of the world perhaps raiders in Australia are riding giant mutant Kangaroo's while raiding settlements and communities.

Many mods aren't Lore friendly that's no reason not to make them if people want them, if you don't want them don't install them.

 

We could always pull the horses from Skyrim TTW style to get around the Beth assets legal smeazels.

 

And someone imported a Godzilla to FO4, how hard can it be for an experienced modeller to get a 3D horse model and do the same? The riding animations probably the hard bit.

Okay. So revision of the question. Is it possible to somehow make radstags as mounts? Im not sure how you can create the proper scripts and animations for them, though.
