bethesda.net clearly doesn't want to be involved in user-user conflicts.
Mod theft is not company's responsibility.

If they "don't want to be involved" then they have no business running a forum in 2016. Site moderation isn't something that is optional, it's required.

Mod theft sure as hell IS a responsibility of Bethesda's, when it's hosted on THEIR OWN SITE.

By your "logic" one could host a forum and file sharing site, and when the Fed's come knocking on your door for illegally hosted content placed there by your users a "Hey I only own the site", won't keep you from being taken away in handcuffs.

I am not sure about the legal part. Some experts might be able to investigate. But as I heard, the modder can go lawsuit on the thief regarding stolen mods but cannot go on the company. If that's true, you can say in a way that they don't have responsibility at all. Even if they have, the company can easily avoid it by several ways. And must be prepared with fine lawyers. If you cannot win the laws, likely companies don't care after-services as usual. You know the drill.
Mod theft is not something new by the way. There have been s*** ton of mod theft already from other hosting sites before bethesda.net. Actions were rarely made. Nexus rules have no function outside Nexus. You cannot expect vigilantism in outerspace. People are their own.
I guess that's why many modders decided to upload at bethesda.net to prevent potential harms; instead of idly waiting something to be changed.

first off i can't describe how much i love nexus and all those who made it what it is now, and from my perspective these whole situation will be fixed sooner or later.

i know how people feel about leaving and deleting mods, many doesn't deserve that especially those who stood by my side, people are different and their reactions to certain things differ from one another. some modders will decide to continue others won't, some will be aggressive and so on........ since some people are judging me for what i did, i will try to describe how i feel about those whole mess. my mods have been uploaded into B.net more than 5 times and i didn't take any actions because people were taking care of it, they were reporting those files and i didn't care that much about how long it took them to respond, i was busy working and trying to free some more time for modding, more than 9 designs at once, damn i was very excited, anyway here is when it got ugly, people started to send me a lot of message about porting my mods to consoles : " will you port your mods to consoles? why don't you port them to xbone? what is taking you so long ? if you are busy let someone else do it ? " i was responding to them as best as i could and started to delete some as messages been sent every day bushing me around i grow tired of it eventually, they could have just read my sticky post, turned out just few read it and the rest was sending messages. some people started trolling and insulting and i was wondering why the hell would someone do that ?!! i didn't insult anyone even those who took my mods, i never been part of PC VS Console war, it felt like you trying to help someone and he just keeps spitting on you, i felt no fun in modding any more so i decided to stop. then i heard a mod author that i respect accusing me of stealing a design consipt, which i am not sure if he had put it in that way, it felt horrible and depressed, and that was it.

i really hope those whole situation been resolved soon.

I completely understand and respect your decision. That is not cool.

I really hope that this situation is resolved, and soon, as I greatly enjoyed your work. Can't wait to see more great armor mods from you in the future, L0rd0fWar.

Really a shame, L0rdofWar's clothing/armor mods were indisputably some of the best on the site for Fallout 4 at a minimum. The harassment that he detailed was absolutely inexcusable.

To the people acting as if mod authors are being unreasonable for expecting Bethesda to protect their intellectual property rights, how many sites on the internet have you frequented? Would you expect this sort of behavior to go unchecked on DeviantArt? DeviantArt is just a lame site for people to post whatever strikes their fancy, but the moderators there manage to maintain professionalism and protect the rights of content creators. It really is NOT too much to ask.

At the same time, "console players" are not the problem, and this stereotyped characterization only contributes to this insipid "war." All of you who are so quick to cast blame on all console players forget that we in the PC modding community have been in this community for many years now, and have grown accustomed to its particular rules and etiquette. Getting mad at console players for not being versed in our world is like getting angry with your four year old brother for not knowing how to drive a stick shift. If you are going to cast blame, cast it on Bethesda. It is their fault that the respectful, patient, and courteous console players are being lost amidst the horde of trolls, thieves and ungrateful whiners. But not seeing the vast opportunity that the inclusion of this entire new demographic of players offers to the modding community would be a sore mistake.

Good point. That's why user-base and customer-base are in separate cases. User oriented sites like Nexus and DeviantArt were built on the trust, or let's say the consensus or the belief. While customer-base say same things to customers, the reality has proven thousands times they are not inclined to. They barely meet legal responsibility only when needed in most cases.
We already have the answer. bethesda.net has been avoided solving theft problems for months. Would you blindly expect they will magically change after all these months? Perhaps they will offer the promise of better theft management right before announcing next titles. That time hasn't come yet. So yes, I say the same thing. Blame bethesda.net if you want. But don't blame users including modders who are using the site.
Regarding that 'war', it's not surprising to see guys like Bully1969 are avidly expressing hatred to the net and 'betrayers' at the same time haven't made a reply when L0rd0fWar just showed up and expressed his feeling. Trolls are trolls because of the temper. That's why this "console vs pc war" is nerdy as s*** from both sides. Hopefully they will get bored at some point and will move onto next targets.
