aviform
I know there are some mods where making certain kinds of progress will change the Thieves Guild's appearance, or make a vault stack up with gold, and this is somewhat similar. I think a certain way through any modded game you end up with too much gold to do anything with which can make it boring. Especially when you consider that the virtual items you pick up in virtual caves are virtually almost always stolen, and you can't currently give the wealth back to the virtual community. I was thinking a few goldsink mods could probably aid with that need those of us who play "good guy characters" to get virtual pats on the back have and the need to do something with all the ridiculous treasure we get. Things like: A mod where you can give one (or more) of your eleven odd houses in the cities to a homeless person in the city, as well as the clothes in it. Why would anyone need that many houses? It would provide an incentive to buy all of the houses in the cities (goldsink part). You could ask a person to stay or ask them to leave if you need it back. While staying, the NPC would be able to walk in the house, sleep there, wear the clothes there (or just better ones) and wouldn't have homeless NPC chat options. It could also provide a new Charitable statboost while they stay, 2-3 times stronger than the other one but not OP.Mod where you could donate gold in amounts of 5k, 10k, 15k to Honorhall, which progressively makes it look more comfortable/spacious. Obviously this could only be done once Grelod is gone. Once 15k is reached, you could ask some of the homeless children you meet to move in there. Can't adopt all of them. Donations of 1k to shopkeepers or innkeepers to make instant friends with them, no tasks or perks needed, so they don't try to get you arrested for accidentally stealing a cheesewheel (since all items are listed with "steal" options when you aren't friends with them). A food bank in Riften (looks like it could use it) where you could donate extra food (foodsink for those 100s of tomatoes) or buy extra food (goldsink) to donate, which will increase the amount of food displayed and patronage in the place once amounts of 100-250-500 donations of food (quantity of food, not donations - that would take a long time to do one by one) are reached. Maybe once the max amount is reached, it could offer you "extra" unique food to sell to you.Option to donate money to the Jarl. At totals of 1k-5k the Jarl's dwelling will be cleaned up/look better and at higher donations (10k-25k-50k) the town they're in is cleaned up and improved.Option to bribe the guards/Jarl of Windhelm to give the Grey Quarter some slack/improved funding. At 1k this removes racist dialogue from all Windhelm NPC's, since it's being cracked down on, and at higher ones they quarter is cleaned up/allowed for cultural displays like in some mods. Windhelm is some kind of dystopia. Edited July 5, 2016 by aviform
OpenWorldAddict
Just to let you know, there are a bunch of mods that you can sink gold into such as:Tavern GamesLandlordSimple Taxesthere are some others as well.
aviform
I know, but those mods either get me more money which I then need to sink also or just vanish the gold without any effect, which I could do by throwing my gold into the sky. This way it's like achievements and actually does something to the game. Edited July 5, 2016 by aviform
