NPC - Follower Issue

Recommended Posts

Creation Kit (Detailed Followers Tutorial)

I follow this guide but i can't get the NPC follower to... follow me...
Its in the game..
With Sandbox Idle AI package and sleep
With added @Factions tab the following two ( [-1] CurrentFollowerFaction & [0] PotentialFollowerFaction )
I also added the @Relationship tab (i have made unique that NPC - Follower) which pointed my char. as relationship Ally

I don't know what the heck is going on... I didn't ''dublicate'' from another char. in order to make a clean one... But still can't
fit all together.. the char. is place @Castle Volkihar. near Chalice. but it doesnt open the dialog.. i know am missing something but... what?
I added the Marriage Faction too just in case but still.. no :S

I can upload pictures for better refference...

I think the 'current follower' and 'potential follower' factions only work for the vanilla follower voicetypes, unless additional methods are used. You should be able to find online a list of what voicetypes work. :)

If you are indeed using a vanilla follower voice type and you added the right factions like you said but it's still not working, your problem may be the Dialogue Bug which can be easily fixed by generating an .SEQ file which can be done using TES5Edit.

@NexBeth

Hey there... Well to be honest I did followed the guide as best as I could I even watch it multiple times too. I didn't notice any Voice types mentioned anywhere in that video.. I will watch again just to be sure about it. Is it maybe the one Caerulean says about the factions?!? Since I use Dawnguard.esm too not just skyrim.esm and update.

So...i guess will search again about that Voice thing you said. Although I didn't remember anything in that video.... And if by any chance npc from different dlc have any other sequence too it will be good to know...

@Caerulean

Thanks for the answer.

As I mention earlier I use Dawnguard.esm too along with Skyrim.esm not just Skyrim.esm. I don't know if that has anything to do with that.

I didn't use any Voice or anything you think.. Probably you mean the options that are available when you click on an npc. Seems possible.. As for the bug you might say (though I don't use voice type as you said) is it anywhere available on site @Nexus for easy reference? Otherwise I will search online!!

Using the Dawnguard will not have anything to do with it. For voice types that are compatible, go to the Object Window and under Miscellaneous look for FormList. Type in Followers in the search and you should get a few results. Pick the one that says All followers and that will give you all the voice types options you need to choose from for your follower.

As you watch the video, don't just watch it, but work your step at creating the follower as you are watching the tutorial.

OK I found my error... Thanks for all the help so far...

But I have thought more questions along the way... Actually ideas... I want to see if it's doable...

Soooooo I was wondering... Is there any way to make a Vampire NPC (with a given a dialogue option) to change to Vampire Lord at command? (aka: choosing the dialogue something "Unleash your powers..." and going to VL mode?!) or to be done automatically when I am going to VL so does the given npc?!

Plus the same way by having the follower has "custom" combat system and to choose from dialogue. Something like...

1. "Enemy ahead, unleash your powers"

2. "Ssshh.. Be silent, there is someone near"

3. "Here they are... We are gonna burn them out"

4. "I need help... Draw your sword"

And by this options to choose from different combat styles of (1)VL mode , (2) stealth, (3)magic use, (4)sword use.

Also... Any kind possibility to actually aid?!

Like if player is at 25% health, then follower cast resto spell on player.. Or getting in front of the player and use the shield for X given time or when health is 60% or more... Or anyway such things...

I am guessing scripting will be in use here... :/

You will need to create additional dialogue for that with script fragments so you can make your Actor change combat styles. I think changing the Actor's combat style and making them use certain abilities can be done via AI packages, or full scripting. AI packages can be used to make your Actor cast spells by themselves or on the player, but not on other non-specific actors which can only be done via scripting, I believe. I barely know enough about packages and almost nothing about scripting so I was hoping someone else would respond to your questions. :3
