wait what
I've just completed the main quest on Master difficulty and found it quite easy given that I had some awesome gear and a good combination of combat skills. I think a Nightmare/Survival Horror difficulty mod is called for. This would perhaps involve increasing the max level for most enemies, so that level scaling still comes into effect. Basic tweaks of things like armor class, health points, movement speed.Maybe put a timer on use of potions also, because right now we can chug hundreds in a row while the game is paused. The other thing thats needed is an increase in the concentration of enemies. Giants for example, should be intimidating, but they are not since Ive never had to fight more than one of them at a time. If I had to fight five giants and three dragons all at the same time, then that might be challenging. If anyone knows whether this is feasible please let us know thanks. broccolii
I find Master to be a decent difficulty for an average gamer, with a couple rough spikes in difficulty if you level up too many non-combat skills. I am in the thinking of you though, I need the game to be harder. I don't think increasing the level will do it though. More HP, stronger attack etc is just going to make it mundane. I think the answer is in lowering the levels of enemies but increasing the spawns as you suggested. Make me weaker, armor, spell damage etc. Don't give me a larger sink of life on enemies to deplete... throw multiple sinks at me. Right now as a mage when I see new variations of Draugh I am not afraid, I get bored. That I will need to just keep casting fireballs until he eventually falls. (Playing on master). If you increase his health, I'll be even more bored. What the game needs is more varied encounters. Instead of 1 powerful, let me fight 4 average. Give 2 of them immunity to magic, 1 the ability to see me in sneak and the last an enchanted sword.
pinstripe1
More enemies would be nice. The option to make them stronger, weaker and a way of adjusting how many.
MajesticXII
I find the difficulty rather broken i can kill dragons by myself on Master but there was this bandit in a random encounter that i had to reload exactly 26 times to finally kill id rather not have another mess of difficulties
topeira
i dont know about difficulty, but i would sure love a mod that adds more enemies. i'd love to see slightly higher numbers of bandits or draugrs or skeletons roaming the place, or even in dungeons. right now im lvl 19 andd i AM having difficulties in combat (i havent upgraded my health at all so i die really quickly) but in many occasions im fighting 3 bandits at a time where i'd like to fight maybe 6 or so, but not the strongest ones. the weaker ones. meaning - i'd love for a mod that increases the amounts of enemies but if there are 3 week ones, 2 medium ones and 1 strong one than the numbers will grow like 5 week ones, 4 medium ones and 1 strong one. something that makes sense. wait what
Thanks for all the feedback. I really like what broccoli said about magic immunity, ability to see hidden, enchanted weapon. Those are the sorts of features that make things interesting, especially if they are random on each playthrough. Skyrim is the best RPG Ive ever played, but yes it could be even better and thats exciting.
incarn
Yes please, more bad guys for higher difficulty levels. Not just bad guys with so many HP that you need to put a tactical nulcear weapon in their underpants just to wake them up. mmm, fighting multiple dragon = evil. :)
