Daedolon80
Hello guys and gals! I am in dire need of assistance here. So, long story short is that I had to make a re-install of my PC a few days back, and before that I got into NMM and de-activated all my mods to save time later since Skyrim, mods and all that is not on my C:\I did not re-install Skyrim at this point, but I did, however do that after I was done re-installing Steam.I started Skyrim via SKSE and got a CTD, started via launcher, same problem.Checked NMM to see it found my profile and downloaded mods (it did, still deactivated)Deactivated all my mods in both launcher and NMM (just Skyrim, DG, HF and DB esp's loading) and still CTD. So friends of Tamriel - have I maybe missed something, f&%"# up big time or can my beloved game be played once more?Any tips, ideas, sollutions are most welcome :D
MajorFreak
ahhh...might have misunderstood you, but...here's my take: when you first reinstall skyrim you need to launch it as you would if playing vanilla so as to initialize the ini files needed by all sorts of mods, which you won't get if you launch via nmm/mo. at least, that's what i can remember. solution? dunno. try launching skyrim via steam first, to get the vanilla launcher opening, before dicking around with the mod stuff? diggydug
Run LOOT and see if it provides any errors. Are there any papyrus logs you could share as well? If you have decent internet you could uninstall Skyrim and then delete the Steam folder for Skyrim and reinstall fresh. Launch it normally and then mod it. macdhill
This may sound obvious but did you reinstall SKSE into the game folder? Did you use an old SKSE shortcut? When you run TES5Edit does it show your mods? Does TES5Edit/FO4Edit result in any errors when loading with with all your mods unchecked and just the vanilla + Xpacs checked? I'm Curious to find out what the issue was if you find a resolution.

Was hoping to avoid that since I use SKSE and ENBoost and well - I am lazy and did not want to have fix all the settings again  Papyrus only said this:[07/03/2016 - 01:26:45PM] Papyrus log opened (PC)[07/03/2016 - 01:26:45PM] Function GetEffectMagnitudes in the empty state on type Ingredient does not exist. I'm Curious to find out what the issue was if you find a resolution.True it is obvious and embarassing enough, I did not reinstall SKSE :ermm:Yes I used the old shortcut, but the game is installed in tha same folder so it should work.I got a CTD running thru the Skyrim launcher as well so I did not see SKSE as an issue. Could be it thou... TES5Edit showed some mods that got downloaded since I got them from Steam, but they were not activated. Got no errors thou. Anywhooo I will try to make a clean reinstall of Skyrim and SKSE and see if that resolves the issue :cool:Thanks for the feedback! Daedolon80
So clean reinstall of Skyrim seemed to help. Launcher worked like a charm.Reinstall of ENBoost worked fine.Reinstall of SKSE - not so fine. CTD again  Edit:After a lot of experimenting I have come to the conclusion that it is ENBoost that actually is the bad guy here. For some odd reason, it seems to collide with something, witch is something that Never happened before. macdhill
That is odd, Does SKSE run ok if you take out the ENBoost files from your game folder? Did you re-set up the ENBlocal.ini file when you reinstalled it? This is bugging me now like its my game messing up
Daedolon80
Yep SKSE runs fine and I also have Sheson's memory-patch with it.I have heard that some people have had problems running that and ENBoost together, but for me it has worked fine before.Tried both .304 and .305 versions with the original enblocal.ini with CTD on both. Edit:And yes, I did change these two since I only use it for memoryEnableProxyLibrary=false (set to true as standard)UsePatchSpeedhackWithoutGraphics=true (set to false as standard) Edited July 7, 2016 by Daedolon80
Daedolon80
OK, now I feel like the idiot-of-the-week :ermm: :geek: I solved it, finally. What I somehow forgot along the way, is that Win10 does not come with our beloved DirectX 9, wich, as we all know, Skyrim runs on and ENBoost is built on.Soooo, I just had to download the DirectX Runtime Webinstaller (found here) and in that way make my PC run the older versions as well. So sometimes the little gray matter goes on holliday without notice and the simplest solution is the one you need  Thanks for the ideas, tips and feedback once again and happy Skyrim-ing
