justwannaddl
It was rather disappointing. Say what you will about the last quest in Oblivion but at least when it was over, you knew it was over. With no ending credits and not cut scene, I thought Alduin wasn't dead yet and was waiting for a second more horrible form until I heard crickets chirping in my backyard. You killed a power mad demigod and all you got was a sendoff with a side of halfhearted cheering. I think cannon is going to be that Paarthurnax dies/disappears one way or another like Vivec did, which is a shame. He could have potentially become a much more powerful asset to Skyrim than almost any other force in TES. Being more benevolent and engaged in mortal affairs, he could have recreated the old dragon empire without the corrupt and violent oppression characterized by Alduin's reign. Then again, their continued presence in Skyrim may draw unwanted attention from the kingdoms of the Akavir, especially the Tsaesci. At least the Dragonborn has a pet dragon now like Tiber Septim had. I give him a 90% chance of being written as the ancestor of the next emperor. He would be emperor except for the fact that player characters tend to mysteriously disappear into obscurity. Not everyone can become the new Mad God after all.
flavourexplosion
Is there a continuation for the "main storyline" to be discovered after Alduin's defeat? Since his defeat, I've completed quests for several guilds/factions that have been pretty extensive, however I am bothered by a nagging gut-feeling that there are more quests for the advancement of the main story... yes / no?
