CthuLuke
Not going to really spoil anything major but put that in the title just incase. Basically I've got to the point where Dogmeat needs to sniff the sunlight cigars to search out Kellogg, however I didn't do that and instead decided to carry on with some side quests, because I really don't want to get to the point where I've killed Kellogg and the BoS have come before I've done some things like joined the Minutemen and found Danse etc, which I have yet to do because of my own in-game reasons, It's just my weird RP routine. However after doing some quests I realised Dogmeat is not with me, now I WANT dogmeat to be with me for some of the side quests i'm going to do, but I don't want to go all the way back to the point where we enter Kelloggs house, and I also don't want the story to progress to the point where Dogmeat takes us the fort, again stupid RP reasons. Is there a way using Console Commands, that I can somehow... pause the Reunions quest, take Dogmeat with me as normal, then when i'm ready, use commands again to resume the quest from that point? I tried using commands to delete the quest item cigar from my inventory, but Dogmeat still has the 'show cigar' prompt. Thanks for any advice! elmetnuter
If the "player.placeatme (actor code here)" from Skyrim works:You could bring the console the first time you encounter the dog or whenever he is with you, then click on him and note the code somewhere. That way you could call him anytime. This works in Skyrim to call any NPC or objects and as many commands are the same, I suggest that you give it a try. RaffTheSweetling
It would also have worked if you'd have just let Dogmeat lead you to Fort Hagen and at the point where the game auto-dismisses Dogmeat afterwards you instead take him with you and choose not to enter Fort Hagen. You don't have to enter it and fight Kellog straight away if you don't want to. Dogmeat however will usually not leave Fort Hagen after being auto-dismissed (if you already have a follower) and will sit outside until you select him to follow.
