Skooma

Don't make references to ancient cultures when you have no idea what you're talking about. Bruma is not Celtic. In fact, nothing in Oblivion is even remotely Celtic.

Also, how can you not know about the other major cities? How can you possibly play the game without knowing about Chorrol, Skingrad, Kvatch, Anvil, Cheydinhall, Bravil, or Leyawiin?

Wow, what an turkey.

You may feel that way, Keltigothika, but please don't post to that effect. It is quite unnecessary and can lead to flames!

Skooma - in Morrowind was the business of the Camonna Tong, who are present in Oblivion in one place, where they do a weekly dropoff. They appear in game to be associated with the Orc gang from Cheydinhal who are also connected with the skooma trade. S'drassa in Leyawiin is said to be researching a cure by other NPCs but nothing is said about that by S'drassa himself. (It might be in Kragenir's Death Quest when it comes out.) There are recognised dealers - Nordinoor in Bravil and IIRC Shady Sam in the Imperial City. There is a quest in Leyawiin to kill a pair of Skooma dealers. A couple of Imperial City types make the trip to the Bravil skooma den on a weekly basis. Not surprisingly skooma can be found in their IC houses. The characters in the skooma den all have unique dialogue, however the only way to find this out is to break in.

Perhaps at some stage there was going to be a quest involving a skooma cure where these various characters would have been used. The quest however was never developed.

1 thing i know of Skooma... Its scary! I was in imperial City, looking for a house to steal from, when i found Lokmir's house... It had a lock on, but wasnt marked (like stolen stuff) So, i opened the door, went in, and damn... The house was much more of a mess that any other house ive seen! It was filthy! Soo, i looted abit the main floor, then went up to the upper room, looted that to, and decided to sleep on the bed (It also wasnt marked). I slept there for almost 12 hours ore more...

When i woke up, i decided to go down to the basement... On the way down (in the main hall) i found two small skooma bottles... and took them, then i went down into the basement... And guess what i found... Or more, who...?! I found Lokmir, dead... When i looted him, he moved... I got a fright and made a run, only to see, that he still was dead, but in that case, i still went out... Weeks later... i read in my oblivion Guide book, under The Dark brotherhood quests (This was in RL), that a guy you need to kill is a skooma addicted, and that he visits Lokmirs house everyday or something... Which i find kinda scary, since ive been in the house for almost 24 hours :P... And that he is most probaly Lokmirs Killer...

Located in Cyrodiil, north of the Imperial City, this town's population is mostly Nord, although other races are also present.

The town is also considered to be a "meat shield" for the headquarters of the Blades.

What, exactly, were you referring to? The Cyrodiil part, the Nord part, the meat shield part? None of that sounds at all Celtic, and the rest is all mostly information pertaining to NPCs and quests.

The skooma is sort of a free-form quest. Even in the "official strategy guide", it's labeled as such - you can't find a cure or stop the trade, so I take it that there never -was- intended to be any quests of that nature involved, just an easter egg to uncover.

If there isn't one already, I could almost bet there will be a mod for dealing with it at some point. Shame Bethesda is no longer working on any sort of patch for Oblivion (to fix things that need fixing, like the goblin totems, deleting spells, etc).
