tmturrent
I got frustrated after the third my character bought a spell book that he already knew. So I made this Excel file. It has all the Tomes listed, and you can check off the box on the right when you buy one. No more buying spells you already know. In case it is not obvious, this file contains ALL the spells you can buy, and therefore has SIGNIFICANT SPOILERS. Do not look at the file if you think knowing all the spell names would take the fun out of the game. The way I plan on using it is as follows: I will try to mark only the ones I buy without seeing any other books. Since they are alphabetically listed, I have a shot. The above is an Excel file (no formulas or macros). You must rightclick it, Do a "save link as" and save it to your machine. Then change the extension from "txt" to "xlsx" and you can open it with Excel. I don't know why it didn't let me upload without changing the extension. solmyr2
interesting .. too bad im not a mage .. however i like reading all the books in the game .. and the one that i didnt read i keep em on me .. so i dont pick them more times. The problem is i have little space for other items .. Bethesda was lazy and didnt make someting like "u already opened this book". It would be nice to have an exel file with all the books in the game.
invertedpanda
Nice, especially with the cost listing. Thanks!
NelsonAK
Thanks but I tried "Saving Target As" and then changed the format to .xlsx and opened it with excel. All I got was a page with the sign in for this saying that I can't open it. I'm going to google search for a full list of the books as in all books in Skyrim V Elder Scrolls and no guarantees because honestly i'm really into the game, but i'm going to try to code a detailed checklist in Java that will be an actual program that works 100% so that all books are on there in the order that they are used whether it be Spell Tome or a Skill Upgrade, etc... I may not actually complete it though as there are so many and it would be too time consuming to do it for free. I may just do it and then offer to sell it for a cheap price or something, we'll see what happens. PSN Screen Name: NelsonAK & HoTShoTs-Nelson. bben46
@Nelson1. save it without making any changes yet. - I saved it to the desktop so it would be easy to find. You can move it where ever you want later.2. right click - select 'rename' 3. Change the .txt to .xlsx - Ignore the warning3. Click on it - if you have excel it should open right up. I use Open Office Calc, and it opened with no problem. There are already mods that list these for you in game - for free. This is for use outside of the game - so you can toggle out and look it up quickly. It is against the BethSoft EULA to charge anything for mods to their game.
