Press-and-hold power attack?

When i mean press-n-hold, i mean you press your left mouse button to get the weapon in the ready position, hold it to keep it at the ready position, then release the button to do a power attack. This could be seen in Dark Messiah of Might and Magic. I wanted this feature because the Press LMB, 1 sec later you do an attack with a movement key (back, forward, etc.) style is hard to time and very very inaccurate (you could hit your allies and they turn on you, what a bummer).

If this feature is possible and not yet released, or never will be (i assume), then tell me how to make the press-n-hold attack mode from the construction set or something.

Strangely enough I have experienced this before. I play with Deadly Reflexes 4, so it may be a component of that, though I'm unsure if it is just a glitch, but this would suggest that it is possible.

The problem of mis-firing powerattacks is usually because people have so many script heavy mods running which slows down combat and key detection. The problem isn't so much detecting if a key is being held down (wouldn't work for the mouse) but rather being unable to call the attack based on how long the key was held down. There aren't any functions which can force a player attack, let alone pick that attack based on keypresses. The method of using activators to simulate the effects of an attack, while playing the attack animation as an idle really wouldn't work here, atleast not well. Additionally, since such a script would have to run every frame durring combat, and would be fairly complicated, it may even make combat worse in that it would slow everything down, and may be less accurate as to how long you're holding down the key as it is now. It may also totally screw up how bows and NPCs behave. You can still time your power attacks how things are, it just takes some practice.
