Skyrim Loadout

OK i have a really good idea for a mod that may be impossible...but i think it can be done. first of all i noticed that all the different weapon classes have their own weapon slot on your body..which makes this mod much more possible. i like switching between different weapons and spells and bow and shield....but i hate it when my shield and sword just disappear when i pull my bow out. so i was thinking...would it be possible to first of all make a mod that adds a hotkey (or if your shield is in your favorite list) to put your shield on your back..so you can use a spell or pull out a torch and your shield will hang on your back instead of disappear. also would it be possible to make a mod that makes all weapons that are set to your favorite menu appear in their appropriate slot on your body...even when not equipped. then you could wear a sword and a dagger and a mace...plus have a bow on your back...then when you want to pull a certain one out you open your favorites menu and select the one you want to use. the others remain in their sheath instead of disappearing. this would be a super good realism mod. there would be the issue of clipping if the customer places two longswords in their favorites menu....but we will just have to assume that people will be able to understand that and set their favorites menu accordingly. this mod isn't for everyone, but for the people who go for realism i think this mod would be huge. I was thinking of this myself. How about if you applied it to your Favourites tree? Like, if you put a specific set of arrows in your favourites, they show up on your back, if you have a sword it goes on the sword slot, and if you have a dagger it goes just below the sword and hangs off your side. Same with bows and two-handed weaponry. Heck, maybe if someone goes the extra mile, if you have stuff like potions in your favourites, they can hang off of your beltside as vials? I think there's a mesh for a book hanging off of a belt as well, so you could use that for tomes you've got Favourited.

i think this would require some scripting, but it may be possible.

it bugs me that when dualweilding only one weapon is sheathed, the other one just disappears.

one problem may be the fact that u can put several weapons of the same class into favorites.

basically we need the following gear slots which sgould be uniquely defined via a modded version of the favorites script:

- main hand + offhand/shield / twohanded

- bow

- arrows

- dagger

as far as i undersand only the equipped weapon is being unsheathed on pressng "r"

another point where a modder could start is the fact that the quiver doesn't disappear on choosing a sowrd as the active weapon, whereas the bow does. it may be possible that we would just need to change something in class of all weapons so that they become like the quiver when in concerns their appearence on hte charachter. i wonder if this could be made in with the creation kit.

What if you instead mapped it to locations on the body? So you'd have right hip, left hip, and back - the hips could each hold one one-handed weapon and one or two minor items (potions, daggers, etc.). The back could hold some combination of two-handed weapon, shield, bow, and arrows. Probably not all four simultaneously though, that would look a little silly. But I kinda like the idea that it would force you to drop at least one of the potential forms of attack.

Besides, this would just be your favorites menu. If you really wanted to switch from two-handed to one-handed with shield, you could always do it through the main inventory.

thats what i was thinking. i think the favorites tree would be the best way to handle it. it would be hard to stop it from allowing you to equip multiple weapons of the same slot. you would probably just have to avoid doing that on your own to prevent clipping.
