CTD Randomly while exploring the commonweath

The CTD I keep getting is only when I'm in the Commonweath like the title says. I tried to replicate it, but it doesn't crash in the same spot or after the same amount of time. It could crash after a couple of minutes or a half-hour or more.

I've disabled mods and just ran in different directions several times until it crashed to try to find the offending mods. Usually doing that will cause it to crash sooner. I usually only need to run from starlight drive in to the crater and It'll usually crash before then.

I've even started a new character to see if that would change anything (it doesn't). I've ran LOOT and I don't get any warnings or errors.

If anyone has any ideas, I'd really appreciate it, thanks.

Edit: I've reduced the mods I'm using by about half. I've updated the Mod List and Load Order to show this. I'm still getting crashes.

Well you can search and read about CTDs all over these forums and you will see that this will be something that may be very hard to isolate and fix. Especially with only getting random CTDs that are not repeatable. Wish there was something else to offer but CTDs are a real pain in the butt and almost a way of life with this game. Again read other threads and maybe try suggestions offered by others. Believe me there will be many suggestions. I know because I have replied to numerous posts myself offering help. About the only thing I can really offer is to do a lot of saves. But then again if you are playing in survival mode then that's not an option. :no:

Thanks for the reply. I've looked around the forums a bit before posting. Most of the CTDs seem to be those that cant get in and play the game or doing something specific.

I've at least cut the amount of mods I'm using by about half (kind of a bummer, but oh well) and I'm going through disabling two or three at a time. This certainly takes a long while though hopefully this will have some result.

I'll be sure to post back if I figure it out so if someone else has a similar problem then maybe it would help.

Hmmm, is it crashing while you're over in the North-east side of the map? The way you mention it's always in the commonwealth makes it sound likely. If so it might be a problem with the Automatron DLC. You could try this patch:

Otherwise I'm sorry I'm not sure. You're running a lot of mods there, some of which I don't recognize so I'm not sure if it might be something there. Although most of the load order conflicts will crash it at start-up or when doing something that using the conflicting assets, so it doesn't really sound like that sort of problem from what you describe.

 

Edit: One last possibility that would match the 'always in commonwealth but at random intervals' description, could be something to do with your weather mods. You could take a look and see if there's any known issues with those.

2 things; need your saved game file "current"

how many unfinished quests are currently active ?

triggers in the game have been altered by the amount of mods you have showing, so, there might be a conflict of scripts crossing cells.

 

Like say, you enter a cell area that has the scripted events stored in the games registry not yet started but one mod or two have these stages canceled out for other things to take place.

 

it's a random thing as you put it. The data is coming from the mods and there is a conflict some where to cause this.

make a merged patch using xedit functions and open it up and see what world spaces show as in conflict, any conflict would be of interest.

I've added a picture of the merged patch as well as an image of a conflict loser list. All of the conflicts in the merged patch are the same mods.

I've had the CTDs near diamond city and hangman's alley too. I've tried disabling vivid weathers and regrowth just in-case that was the cause. But it wasn't.

I want you to examine Spring cleaning ,I have a hunch it's loaded with deleted statements.

EDIT:

Undeleting: [REFR:0014F71E] (in GRUP Cell Temporary Children of SpectacleIslandExt10 [CELL:0000E1FE] (in Commonwealth "Commonwealth" [WRLD:0000003C] at 18,-16))

 

If there are cell entries or world space entries, disable Spring cleaning and go into the effected areas again and test.

 

Still looking for the leaks.

 

If you don't have a clean saved game ? then download a character re-placer mod and use that as a test vehicle to determine whats wrong.

 

Any and all mods you examine that have deleted data written into them will cause CTD's

What I dug up requires fixing.

 

Resort masters, save, load into the CK, hard save there 1 plugin at a time.

What I found are out of sync masters listed and Loot mixes it all up even more so the data is looping onto it's self.

 

From this mod's plugins. (Valdacils Item Sorting v7.5.0).

 

  1. ValdacilsItemSorting-ZZ-DLCRuleArmorByClassOverride.esp
  2. ValdacilsItemSorting-00-ValsPicks-DLCVersion-VanillaWeight.esp
  3. ValdacilsItemSorting-00-ValsPicks-DLCVersion.esp

Plus, there seems to be a lacking of current Master files that should be included so it might be breaking things in game.

Fix those 3 plugins and resort the data as you have it now. And test.

And I could disable ValdacilsItemSorting-ZZ-DLCRuleArmorByClassOverride.esp.

If I did that, and tested with a new character, in your opinion, would that help somewhat? Or is there more wrong with Valdacils Item Sorting? It seems like that's really the only mod that's conflicting so much.

It will determine the What IF issue of the plugins effectiveness.

it has hidden deleted content and yet host the same content to run all within it's self. This causes a loop. you can't have it both ways.

Amazing huh?

 

some times simple things are hard to find unless you get help from those who know.
