Pushkatu
I've yet to use a torch in this game. Still the atmosphere in caves is great(I have found a couple that are quite dark, I used a light spell there). I don't remember using torches in Oblivion, at least not until I installed some immersion mods. Even after that I preferred a detect life spell. Fatalmasterpiece
You have to systematicly go into each interior zone and deleting the "fake" ambient lighting so that only sourced lighting (lanterns, torches) exist. Looking forward to making a darker interiors and nights mod myself.

Looking forward to making a darker interiors and nights mod myself. You have my moral support! :thumbsup:With no light other than that of a few torches and lanterns will sure add to the immersion feeling and will sweat up our gameplay, especialy for stealth characters. Someone will have to make a detect life spell mod to, becouse the one I'm using in Skyrim consumes to much magika, it takes less than 10-15 seconds to dry my 360 magika points. Wtf... ? Fatalmasterpiece
Thanks. Just depends on whenever the CK comes out. Invisible, unsourced liights are a terrible idea. Caves should be dark... that's why they are caves and not say... outside.
asafbl
good thing i play a warrior on my first play through, otherwise my stealth character would be disappointed :P waiting for the darker interiors mod. any news when a new patch or the CK coming out, btw? soot00
Maybe decrease brightness? And I remember never using torches in Oblivion except AFTER I installed a darker nights mod. Agreed, have no idea what the OP is talking about unless he forgot he had a player made dark cave mod, lol Vanilla Oblivion never required torches at all. asafbl
like i said, i had weather- all natural and immersive interiors which, if i recall, edited the lighting system to make it more realistic. but i remember using torches b4 i got those mods as well! and like i said after, you could go through a cave or dungeon without a torch, you would probably miss a lot of things. You have my support as well, i really do want another dark mod just as the previous games, ( includes fallout 3 and NV )good thing i play a warrior on my first play through, otherwise my stealth character would be disappointed :P waiting for the darker interiors mod. any news when a new patch or the CK coming out, btw? I'm currently playing an overpowered stealth dagger dark elf, it does suck that i can ninja stealth everything with 1 hits ( besides the dragon i stealth killed today with 5 hits ) needs to be more dark!!!and yes, the patch has been announced "The current estimate is that they will be live the week after Thanksgiving. gamefever
I think we had to use torches too see in caves pre-Morrowind??? Eldar Scrolls 1 or 2 right?
tmx
It depends on your monitor, some monitor shows everything, but have unrealistic contrast. An IPS monitor + tuned with a colorimeter would make it more realistic. But the decision to make the dark more navigable is a marketing decision by Bethesda to make the game more playable. This can be tuned with community mods hopefully in the future. Or you can mess with the brightness setting.
