LE Creation Kit won't save anything at all

Hello everybody!!

 

I'm trying to follow lots of tutorials to create a mod (I'm new at this thing) and every single one of them asks to save the file. First thing. Even before loading skyrim.esm. The problem is that the CK NEVER SAVES ANYTHING AT ALL. No matter what. And when I try to do that, it closes.
Do you have any idea how to fix that? Please? Thanks.

When you open the CK for the first time you need to do a save as whatever name you want your mod to be. And assuming you have done that make sure its the active file when you come to run up the CK again and select what you want it to run with ie Skyrim.esm. Have you done this?

When you first hit save, it always opens up a dialogue for u to name the file and save it.

The problem is that I tried to do that a million times but it doesn't work. The CK closes whenever I click the "save buttom".

Ck never gave me the chance to see such dialogue :sad: It always closes before that happens.

In which case you CK installation is screwed - go into the properties for the CK on steam and verify the integrity of the tool cache ("its under local files").

Thanks for the tip. I did that... it's 100% but it still fails to save anything. Oh, I also tried to uninstall and reinstall the CK more than once a few days ago. I really don't understand what's happening.

In which case you potentially have a system problem - perhaps the CK is looking for a dl provided by Windows that is missing or corrupted - but tracking that down is a question for Windows support.

Have you tried saving after you load Skyrim.esm and Update.esm? Despite what the tutorials may say, you don't actually have to save the file before loading the dependencies.

I really think you may be right. My OS is Windows10 and I'm about to try again using windows7. I hope it works. ;) Thanks anyway.
