Graphics Glitch

I have used Oblivion for probably a year now and all of a sudden the graphics went haywire

I decided it might have been a graphics card problem, so i bought myself an Nvidia 8800 GT 512MB graphics card

but to no avail... the outcome was equally horrendous.

if more pictures are needed please ask\

thank you

i'm not exactly sure what a computer setup is

but i'm running 1GB of Ram

I'm using a Nvidia GeForce 8800 GT 512MB

and it's at 1024x768

i've reinstalled it twice... to no avail

it seems to get better if i lower view distance...

but, i'd like to find out a fix so i can put my graphics card to some good use

have you tried setting the game video settings back to default? enable bloom, distant landscape, buildings and trees using the launcher? should be alright. then reinstall the latest version of directx 9.0c. it's nov 2007.

those are the simple things i could think off hand... sorry if it doesn't help. and download and reinstall your drivers, of course.

You may need to reinstall.

The first time you Start the Program it detects your video card and writes your settings to your Oblivion.ini and I thinkto another file in the My Documents\...Games Folder.

Can someone help me out with more detailed directions?

I know I get a message box or somthing that tells me my video card has been detected.
