Removing Hostility - Guards still attack, citizens do not

Recommended Posts

I'm trying to remove the "attack on sight" effect of being a vampire lord.

I edited the script to remove "attack on sights" "report crime" and "add to vampire faction", and used the CK to remove all hated factions for VampireBeastForm.

Citizens are now indifferent to my vampire lord form but soldiers and guards still immediately attack on sight, and I can't figure out why. I have no bounty and should not be part of any hated faction.

Anyone got any ideas?

EDIT:

I *think* I have it working

Have tested both. Transforming in front of citizens does not trigger any response.

Transforming in front of guards triggers immediate aggro, and transforming away from guards then approaching also causes immediate aggro.

I did notice that VampirePCFaction was flagged as an enemy to all Crime Factions so I have removed that. Still getting aggro from guards.

I'm now checking through crime scripts trying to find if the Vampire Lord form is flagged as a crime anywhere.

Yes that's what I meant.

I've done a quick test run and it seems my time in the CK was wasted. All that was needed was the changes to the script. I've never released any script mods before so can anyone tell me how to package this thing up so I can release it?

Not sure if you're saying it was an oversight by Beth or you don't think you get added to that faction when you change?

The script that controls the transformation to a VL, "DLC1PlayerVampireChangeScript" definitely contains a line that adds you to that faction. By erasing that line I got rid of the guard aggro.

Well you should take a break, eat something healthy, and go outside for a little while.

When you come back, I am pretty sure you are talking about DLC1PlayerVampireFaction, unless you have a mod that reverts the Dawnguard changes to vampire factions (which do exist). DLC1PlayerVampireFaction is set as an enemy to all guards by the quest DLC1Init. Since the faction also controls other relationships, rather than removing the faction completely I would say add another quest that undoes the changes from DLC1Init.

You were right, and also I found this script was causing some issues with better vampires (at least I think this script was causing it). Attempts to fix it seem to have made everyone hostile once more.

I give up. I simply cannot do this. I know that it's possible because I've seen a video for a mod was removed from both nexus and steam workshop by the uploader for some reason which does this exact thing. However he did it, I cannot replicate it.
