Hello everybody,

I downloaded skyrim long time ago, at the beginning I Played without mod and it was working fine without crashing. Then I added mod and it was fine, then I modified the skyrim.ini and the preference file in order to be able to see the grass and NPC much more further, and at this moment a lot of crash to desktop occurred, and now I can't play without crash to desktop everytime I try to load after having quick save.

With some research I found that it was a memory problem, so I download SSME as recommend in many forums. I extract SSME files (a dll file and SSME.ini) in my skyrim folder, not in data but with the skse launcher (Last version). On SSME page I saw that if SSME was load by skyrim it will create a ssme.log, and this is my problem, I have no ssme.log created.

So what do I have to do for ssme to be load by skyrim ??

Please help me

Thanks

Try modifying your skyrim ini and preferences file back before you started to CTD.

Probably your PC cant handle long draw distance and higher grass settings.

From the SSME page: " If you're using the new build of SKSE that has support for changing the memory allocation values, you don't need SSME"

So...you don't need it. Just use the SKSE memory allocation. You can also use ENBoost for extra memory and stability.

Ok, i want to find if there is a solution to stop ctd with actual skyrim.ini if not I'll restore my skyrim.ini backup.

How do I use skse to allocate more memory for skyrim ?

Also if you use the SKSE built-in patch with Mod Organizer, you should set the "forcesteamloader" parameter in the SKSE launch options in MO, since that would apparently be required for it to work with MO. An alternative to the SKSE/SSME memory patch would be to use the OS memory allocators feature from Crash Fixes: http://www.nexusmods.com/skyrim/mods/72725

Hello, i've created SKSE.ini and i put 1280 and 256 for 1024 but it still crashing !

I don't how to be sure skse use this .ini but it still crash to desktop after a quick load in middle of the game !

For information, after having launch skyrim with skse, I went in my task manager and when in skyrim I am in the middle of the forest without any combats, dragon ... Skyrim use 746 Mb of memory !

Please tell me there is a solution !

Thanks

DefaultHeapInitialAllocMB=768 ; This sets the first stack to 512 Mb(the total allocation - the scrap heap). You can set this higher than 768. There's no point in doing so unless your memory blocks log (see testing if it works) shows you running out at the default settings. If you set it higher, be sure that you have expandmemoryx64 in ENBlocal.ini set to false

If you're always crashing, may be the problem is elsewhere.

Ok i've try memory block log but it doesn't work, I didn't install skyrim with steam, and I think this is the problem because I went into the skse.log and I found out that memory block log was load but there were no memoryblock.log created (with the corresponding path for true or false), and in all tutorials I found they talk about a path like C:\programmesfiles\steam\steamapp\...\skyrim\...

So I don't no what to do ! I reinstall all my mods, one by one then one and the other one by one ... All test possible with mods and there is no conflict, and I don't know how to test if skse allocate more memory for skyrim or not.

What do I have to do ?

Have you tried, instead trying all those memory block thingies, using the Crash Fixes plugin - specifically the OS memory allocators feature from it - along with the SKSE Plugin Preloader linked in the description? If you use that, all the memory block stuff should become obsolete. And as was mentioned, if your Skyrim does not even use lots of memory, it could be a mod, or a bunch of imcompatible mods, that is causing the crash.

You said you did not install Skyrim with Steam. What would that mean? If it means you have a pirated copy, that could also be one reason for the game not working as it should. And all the tools and such were designed with the official game that has not been tampered with by pirates. So if you have a pirated copy, your issue might just be there, too.
