Trying to launch the game from within FOMM just crashes immediately after opening.

Cursor doesn't load, can't skip any of the slideshows and main menu doesn't load. Game just launches, then goes (not responding) and closes again.

This is a popular crash posted all over the internet but all the fixes appear to be simple things like obviously messed up load order, not using FOSE, untouched ini files, ect. All the things I've already done basically.

Clearly...there's still more to be done.

yes, Sorry for the late reply, family had other plans for me after dinner. Then I was kinda tired too so next thing i know, it's many hours later.

Fomm has a graphics tweak er..Fake xlive.dll

Click Tools and then install tweaked. set and run.

once you have sorted the game files. close fomm and run the game direct. Though it is late in the game, the program was built with an older version of .NET so that actually might be (perhaps?) hindering things.

That's just some thing I once ran into my self on windows 10.

[in my signature] Click Tools Needed and run that, then run the game.

I want to make darn sure you are up to date.

what this is, covers Direct-x files and game software compatibility for newer systems.

get the game running.

I went to Tool > Install Tweaked. Little window popped up with a description. Couldn't help but notice this...

what i mean is this.

  • IF you use that, you may experience problems on windows 10, 10 will disable it after a while.
  • Or 2. use the Pink tools item in my signature and Eliminate the issue all together.

Went with the second option. Reinstalled GFWL via the link in your signature and launched the game. No changes it just instantly crashes still.

in fomm, uncheck all and go thru the process of eliminations first the DLC's then 4 mods at a time.

It ran before so we know the PC can handle it. Right?

I disabled all the mods in FOMM and just enabled Fallout.esm and the DLC

Fallout still crashes even with no mods enabled.
