Yeah...I was honestly expecting the solutions to be very simple. Mouse acceleration would be an option somewhere I can just turn off and be done with it and the FPS could just be a setting turned down somewhere. But if my only solution is to completely restart then I'm good.

I'm ok with spending a few hours modding MineCraft or even a whole day modding Gary's Mod. But I just spent FOUR days modding Fallout (and im not working atm so that's literally all day) trying to get these mods to work. And as far as I'm concerned, they are. I went to bed last night thinking everything is working fine and dandy and that I would start the next day with my new file and now today I'm being told to completely restart. Tear all the way back to the base game and start over. My internet here has a download speed of about 300kb/s on a good day. Through a solid connection like Steam. And I only own Fallout 3 through steam so it takes like two days to install.

I'm just done. My game works, albeit not perfectly, but it works. If it crashes and burns and collapses under the pressure of what I've piled on it, fine. Maybe then I'll restart. But for now it works. If the only solution there is to fix the mouse acceleration is to completely tear down everything and reinstall it AND test the game in between each installation then I'l just live with it. I've given up on this project like three times now I just want to play the damn game.

ok, I read it, though h some things are misunderstood, "starting over " does not Entail removing all, it just means replacing just the ini files and 1 CFG file only. you do not need to reinstall every thing.

you installed one mod we know for a fact installs things you don't know where.

  1. So, to play things safe.
  2. back up the My Documents/ My games/fallout 3 INI files.
  3. Delete what remains except the saved game folder.
  4. run the steam launcher for the game,
  5. Fo3 launcher windows should show a graphics reset dialog if done correctly and that tells you the ini files are now replaced,
  6. Run fallout 3 from that point.
  7. Do not worry about any mods as they are not important at this time
  8. we just want to replace and activate the game.
  9. in game hard save and then hit the key's Alt +f4 keys.

go into your documents folder and open the ini files and inspect them. DO not Alter them.

Verify they are complete default files.

This should remove the doctored up mouse hosiery you have.

Give that a shot, you have nothing to loose here.

*huge sigh of relief*

Ok. I was way too frustrated there for a second. Stepped away from the PC, took the dogs out for a walk (caught some Pokemon :P) and now I've read this and feel more confident about this whole ordeal.

Giving it a go.

back up the My Documents/ My games/fallout 3 INI files.

- check

Delete what remains except the saved game folder.

- check

run the steam launcher for the game,

- I get the vanilla launcher and a message that says "Fallout 3 will now detect your video hardware and set video option accordingly."

Fo3 launcher windows should show a graphics reset dialog

- clicking "ok" on the "detecting video hardware" message brings on another that says "Video setting have been set for Ultra High Quality"

if done correctly and that tells you the ini files are now replaced,

- Nothing was mentioned about ini files being replaced but I confirmed that they are indeed there.

Run fallout 4 from that point.

- You mean Fallout 3 :P.

- The game launches and the immediately crashes on the main menu. Probably because it's being launched with Steam and not FOSE.

Do not worry about any mods as they are not important at this time

we just want to replace and activate the game.

in game hard save and then hit the key's Alt +f4 keys.

- I cannot get into the game to hard save because it immediately crashes after starting.

the settings effecting the mouse drivers are basic things, they are external as far as I am aware of the game main files or plugins.

I'm not allowed to type all of this out in my own language, you think English is frustrating? try and converse across language barriers.

I get more slack from that than anything else. Verbiage usages are way different here. Meanings are not quite on target. For me anyway.

But I don't give up.

start the game with Fose now and see what takes place

Oh man...a number of things. Doesn't look good.

When I try to load my game, I get the message that the save relies on content that is no longer there. Why? I don't remember removing any mods...just those .ini files. Is that what it's talking about?

Regardless of what I think, it's obvious SOMETHING went wrong. Because when I attempt to load the file anyway, this is what loads:

13697195_1022021294548051_16318003708065

The ENB is all messed up, textures aren't loading, I have NO idea what that blue light is on my gun or where it came from and DarnUI isn't loaded either.

When I pause the game I get the DarnUI intro message that explains how to use it, but clicking the "ok" button doesn't do anything. So I have to alt-f4 the game.

I'll try removing the ENB altogether for now since it's not necessary and doesn't actually involve any ESM files. And because I don't know if I like that one lol. I'll start a whole new file and see where that leads.

so you not completely alone here. Take a break and read this. (https://forums.nexusmods.com/index.php?/topic/4672025-tfc-tweak-help/&do=findComment&comment=40539570)

It's the results that really count. there, on that thread, the meaning was for another purpose but the results are posted by another person whom has benefited by what we posted.

It's the waiting that kills us. We never know what the results are.
