Dijas
A LAN'ed version would be good, because you'd be able to have clever companions rather than idiots who get stuck in between two rocks (unless your friends are of equally low intelligence ;) ) Don't tell me you never got stuck in a rock :bleh: What's stuck in a rock has to do with intelligence? The rest of it, I totally agree with you.
Mamo
I'm up for the emailing!! So many times have i gone to lan parties ,but we just end up playing morrowind all night lol, and everytime that happens SOMEONE always says something like "man i wish this game worked on lan". Not to mention my bro and i are hooked up on lan all the time and we play morrowind all the time...it could give so much to the game without taking stuff from us. evp
Maybe the elder scrolls 4 will be online or at least have a multiplayer...lets hope so :nazgul:
ohGr
if it were lan itd be like runscape, only without the 5 year olds and people who shout "LAAAAAAAAG"morrowind online would lag on a average computer (geforce 4ti 4400 or lower) because it has to draw so many people, 60 people + balmora + drawdistance half way up = 2fps
saldrex
It could be made not to be so laggy if it were made in a way that one person hosts a game and a few others can join.
Slaiv
A LAN'ed version of the game would be pretty good, because you'd be able to have clever companions rather than idiots who get stuck in between two rocks (unless your friends are of equally low intelligence ;) ). But that wouldn't be Morrowind Online, it would be Morrowind On-A-Local-Area-Network. The point that MW wouldn;t work over the net still stands, but the idea over a LAN is one that would work quite well, if implemented correctly. On a LAN you don't run the risk of runnning into idiot power-players or PvP nuts. The save-game problem might be a bit hard to overcome, but i'm sure Beth would be able to do that. So, whos with me? The next version of Elder Scrolls should be able to run over a LAN. Let us begin with a campaign of emails to Beth's cheif executive. Hmm? Hmm? *looks about for the audience who are all trying to move away without being conspicuous* YEah......Blizzard can do it with Starcraft. YOu can save multiplayer games..... And I vote at least LAN for teh next ES..... And for the much earlier post, I doubt BETHSoft would make us pay for online......
Emperor_Ike
Hear, hear, comrades in arms. When begin we our campaign against the mailboxae of Bethesda Softworks? Err... Modern... Yeah... So, yeah, like, I'm totally with you on that LAN thing. That would soooo, like, totally awesome! Shyah! But I think TES IV may be too big to make MP compatible, seriously. It's obvious what the story line is going to be, unless you get stuck on rocks on a regular basis ;). You, the player, are going to be a member of the Blades in some region's capitol city, be it Mournhold, Cyrodiil, or whatever, and then Mr. Emperor decides to croak, and you have to figger out who the real heir is (since he has two declared.) Which, in the end, involves travelling ALL OVER the continent of Tamriel and visiting the homlands of every race in the empire. I hope. Please? No! Bad alter-ego! Down, Do-- Shaddap, you, you'll never have a game that HUGE. Please excuse him, folks. :stupid:
ohGr
It could be made not to be so laggy if it were made in a way that one person hosts a game and a few others can join. listen, unless each character was only a very thin stick with 2 polygons with armor on, no one will be able to run it, you would have to change every little part in the game, and its too late now, wait untill TES4 comes out, because thats our only choice. MDH Weaponeer
Alot of those online games have special online hosts, which make the game go incredibly smooth. The only backdrop is that you usually have to pay $10 a month. Still, I would play Morrowind online for $10 a month!
ohGr
thats what i hate about most online games, paying to play a game, you already shelled out $60-100 for, it just really stinks, ultima online and everquest are prime examples, but when you look at everquest, you find idiots threatening to kill eachother, looks like sony are doing their jobs, making a boring game and causing more deaths *clap clap*
