TheGadget1945
OK, I am on my 3rd playthrough, with everything I have learned from the first 2. I am leaving most of the main quests till much later and doing the "little stuff" first.I am on Level 28 and Scribe Haylen asks, for my first quest, to recover a discumbobulating doobery from.......Rayburn Point in Far Harbor !Are they serious ?I haven't even been there yet.I am sure the game takes account of what DLCs you have but couldn't it be written into the software not to give you quests which are stupidly far ahead of your current progress ? I haven't even contacted the Railroad yet or unlocked many of the settlements.
hard8
unfortunately Bethesda thought it be cool to have radiant quests all over the map, and it's the roll of the dice that determines where the radiant quests well be, you can either load a previous save before talking to scribe Haylen or take the quest and just coc too the location and retrieve the discumbobulating doobery!.. dragonslayer2k12
Yeah that happened to me too it wanted me to go to the vim factory wtf? Glad I started over but actually it makes more sense to move through the quests faster like get to silver shroud quest soon before level 40 and when you see the notice that the silver shroud radio signal has been found be sure to listen to it right away so kent can give you the quest over the radio otherwise it may never trigger. That quest and the cabot house quest are bugged and the endings are not documented properly since no matter what your do even if kent lives the other npcs act like he died at the end instead and if your kill lorenzo either open the door or use the switches the game says that you sided with him instead. Jack doesn't go home he stays at the lab and you can't hear the dialogue between him and his family. I found that I couldn't complete it even by console command and Kent's door was locked. I cheated by using the TCL command to walk though the wall but he wouldn't speak to me.I never bothered with Paladin Danse either so never had to kill him or spare him, and when I used the movetoplayer command long after I had destroyed the BOS he went crazy and started shooting me. I didn't fire back and my companions Cait , Piper and Curie killed him.
dragonslayer2k12
I really hate how the demonize real life political parties ideas with their bad writing and force use to sit through it. The BoS could have some great stories and plot but instead it seems to function as some kind of PSA for a particular political view as usual. What I do is just try to ignore all the BS dialogue from maxon and focus on interacting with tim russ and the rest of the crew. I still have not finished the game yet I want to go with the BoS ending and burn down the institute but I want to get some people out of there first and I want to see shaun pass away first instead of having to shoot him but I don't think that is possible with that ending. Then I have to remember to never go back to the BoS after the ending so I don't have to go murder the railroad. I don't understand why they would get rid of that faction after the institute is destroyed I mean they won't even have anything to do now anyway right? Just kind of lame really. I usually get to a point before it is time to go to the institute then some new mod or new DLC comes out and I start all over again. DLCs they could have made include... Some kind of BoS DLC for extra story stuff Mothership zeta cmon really? no aliens except that one in the cave wtf? Some kind of pre war DLC where you get to travel around and see the world before it goes byebye. I want to see those arguments for food in the streets I want to see a bunch of people pissed off about the govt at the police station and other stuff. Would be great to meet the real valentine and talk to him before he goes off to get his brain waves copied. Some kind of rescue the snatched people DLC to find all those people snatched by the institute including danse instead of just saying they were killed or whatever. RattleAndGrind
OP, I had the same issue. I went into NMM and disabled the Far Harbor DLC (DLCCoast.esm) and reloaded at the point where I entered the door. Problem solved. I went into NMM and disabled the Far Harbor DLC (DLCCoast.esm) and reloaded at the point where I entered the door. Problem solved. Thanks ! Never thought of that. In the event I played the opening Far Harbor quest then ran across to Rayburn Point in God Mode and did it in about 30 minutes total.
Perraine
Yeah, the games scripting plus the "environmental" and "situational" awareness leave a lot to be desired. I make a point of regularly clearing out the Corvega Factory, as its a good source of caps/gear/xp, So i KNOW that there is no one there and nothing in any of the crates/boxes/cabinets, yet the game will still send me on a "kill" or "fetch" radiant quest and somehow, the enemies magically respawn (sometimes right in front of your face!) or the chest you know was totally empty not more than 1/2 hour ago (in game time), now has some doodad in it. But it was the same with Skyrim <sigh> Look for posts about how to find the Trolll Trainer guy (whatever his name is) from the Dawnguard DLC. Lot's of people couldn't find him anywhere (no quest marker) Turns out Bugthesda decided that if you had Dragonborn installed, one of the places he "could" spawn was Raven Rock ... Too bad if you didn't want to visit Raven Rock with that character, or just didn't want to have quests "forced" on you just then. But " Bugthesda ... Bugthesda never changes ..." Don't get me started on the Corvega factory ! Just last night I ran a data recovery mission for Quinlan to Corvega. Back to the Prydwen , get another mission.... yes, it's the Corvega factory again. Perraine
Yah, the Corvega Factory, or the National Guard Training Yard ...<groan> seem to be a fetish with the radiant quest givers. I cannot and dare not count up the number of times I've cleared feral's out of that training yard, and those damn immortal, self replicating turrets!!! At least the Sentry Bot doesn't constantly respawn, although that might be a good thing 'coz they are like Pinata's for high grade junk items.
